Punchy: Morgan Parra

France and Clermont Auvergne scrum-half Morgan Parra has been handed a four-week ban for fighting.

Parra punched Bordeaux-Begles' Gautier Gibouin during the Top 14 clash between the two sides on September 29, whilst Gibouin was being held down by two of Parra's team-mates.

The 24-year-old, who has 51 caps and 288 points to his name, will now miss France's Test match against New Zealand next month, along with this weekend's Heineken Cup clash against Harlequins.

Parra's ban further diminishes Phillipe Saint-Andre's options at scrum-half, with Racing Métro's Maxime Machenaud set to be unavailable due to a hand injury.

That leaves Toulon's Frederic Michalak along with exciting Montpellier prospect Jonathan Pélissié, as France prepare to face the All Blacks, Tonga and South Africa.
