Laporte doesn't really consider Giteau as an option at 10, he said in an interview that Wilkinson and Michalak are his 10's for this year. I'm assuming Giteau will be competing for the 12 shirt with Mermoz .

9 - Michalak, 10 - Wilkinson, 12 - Giteau, would be great. And I still think Giteau is best at 12, because he can expose the opposition a lot more, because of the limited cover from the forwards. Limited as compared to the number 10 channel.

Not sure Toulon is the greatest option for him if he is hoping to play #10 for France. Yes, he had a great last few weeks of the super rugby season, but he couldn't get into the team for the first half and he was signed as a scrum half.

Wilkinson and Giteau are better options at #10, on the whole. I imagine he;ll end up playing more at 9 than 10 for Toulon.
