Somebody consistently better at all aspects of a No 2s role than William Servat. Give me a break. Week in and week out, mobile, intelligent, brave and totally reliable. Too much mulled wine over Xmas boys.
C'est la vie

There's no doubting where planet rugby is based in the world, eh.
I think those players should come take on exeter chiefs at sandy park on saturday in the rain and freezing temperatures. with the exception of Castro and O'Brein They'd get absolutley bulldozed. :)

I have to say that this selection is so biased as to be unbelievable, no wonder the French believe there is an Anglo Saxon plot against them. Sky coverage do a good job on the whole but why no French commentators? We have Irish, Scots, Welsh, Engish, NZ and Australian all without intention I am sure speaking with bias. The same for Italy, are there no Italian commentators available? Lol might do at a pinch.

@ PR - Generally agree but find it strange that the IRB player of the year (Dussautoir) is not good enough to make the starting XV...well...

Why not... I mean, some good choices here...
But no French at all?
William Servat, Nicolas Mas, Thierry Dusautoir, IRB Player of the World 2011, Julien Bonnaire who is ALWAYS excellent, Morgan Parra, Vincent Clerc, Best try scorer in the RWC, Lionel Nallet... Do these names ring you a bell?
And when you mention one, it's Imanol Harinordoquy, who for me had a very good RWC, indeed, but otherwise is really too unconsistent, able to do the best and the worst...
So OK, French were not that good, but still, they went to RWC final, which is not nothing...
For the rest, I would have really preferred Jamie Roberts at 12, Mike Phillips at 9, Rhys Priestland should at least have been mentioned...

I like how the boks have the most powerful kicker in the world in frans steyn, the most accurate goal kicker and drop kicker in the world in morne steyn, the best hooker in the world by a country mile in bismarck du plessis, the best lineout jumper in the world and possibly of all time in victor matfield, the best fetcher in the world in heinrich brussow, and schalk who is, well, the hulk and not a single one is in this team. Also i dont see why everyone is pissed off with ashton being in the team, this guy is world class and is deservedly there!

It's nice to see that PR is fair and looks how players have performed, rather than reputations. Matfield has done nothing this year, with club or country and Du Plessis hasn't got the starts for the boks. Also the anti Northampton feeling is growing, people don't like any of there players!

Isa Nacewa as a wing even though he played mostly @15 and truly excelled here? Ashton should be nowhere near here. Matfield deserves to be ahead of horwill although i thing the latter gets a rough time after having captain heaped upon him, Harinordoquy and Dusautoir deserve more tho!
PR should run a new questionaire, what will the Lions test team in 2013 Australia be? That'll bring up a few interesting ones.

Bismarck before Kevin, and no Ashton at all, insert random Kiwi/Aussie/Frenchman there, but otherwise a decent team.

Why no South South African's in your team. What about players like Victor Matfield the worlds No.1 line out jumper. He also has great leadership qualities. He is the Springbok vice captain. he has won 3 x super 14 titles / 1 x World Cup winners medal. 110 caps for the Springboks several currie cup winners medals etc. What about Francois Steyn, he was one of the most exciting players in the Springbok team. He could kick penalties over from as far back as 65 metres away. And there are so many other world class Springbok players.

Chris Ashton? are you kidding?
As soon as I saw that pick, it rendered the rest of this selection void/unvalid for me.

Picking out a single player is always going to be hard and cause controversey, but BOD and Ashton were not the best players in their positions. Not even close. BOD is getting on and he was never at full fitness this year. He was solid, but certainly not the best. Ashton, well, his stats may look good (at least until you take a closer look - they are actually quite deceptive), but his defence is pathetic and he has an attitude to match. Typical overrating caused by the English media.

These comments show the knowledge of some PR readers about the front row. So far we have had both Cian Healy who is also a loosehead and Mike Ross down as having bested Tonga'huia in the Heineken final. Come on lads make up your minds!
I'd counter that particular argument by saying both Healy and Ross may be good for Leinster, but they have to take their share of the blame for being part of an Ireland scrum that no-one fears and part of an Ireland side that underachieved at the WC again having flattered to deceive all year.

Great team, think Mike Ross also got the better of Tonga'huia in the 2nd half of the Leinster/Northampton final.
