You're right Carpeleone, if we can find a referee that will keep McCaw's hands off the ball for that extra second in the ruck, or get him to roll away an extra second more quickly, the Leinster contingent might reproduce some of their provincial form. Can't see it happening though.
jonsey2 I am sure Kearney IS loving the prospect at playing Dagg as he (Kearney) is a better player. Admittedly one of the few when the players in each position are compared. And as for NH teams talking themselves up with nothing behind it, well our U20s had a fine victory yesterday, didn't they? Against lads twice their size, born and reared into rugby no less.
another farce - let it go. Warburton pulled a dangerous tackle and Rolland did what he'd been told to do.

Absolute disgusting and racist post. Are you eleven year old? Not even BokAvenger dared writing that. Playstation rugby player.

But I would be absolutely delighted with an Ireland win.
In case it happens, I will pour myself some fine Bushmills.

They always believe they can do it. What other mentality would you want them to have?
Besides, I remember you doing something similar before Ireland played Australia at the RWC, as well as many Australians and Australian pundits... Confidence is part of sport. You wouldn't get a lot of the upsets that you do without some sort of unrealistic confidence / overconfidence.

What did people expect him to say.............'nah mate we just here to make up the numbers!' .....ofcourse he isnt, he is going to say we believe we can win!He wasnt arrogant at all, but then again how dare anyone say they can beat new zealand, i mean he must be an arrogant so and so for saying we could beat the master race (note the sarcastic tone!) . Arrogant New Zealand fans (and i know not eveyone is).............get over yourselves! You only won the world cup as you were in your own backyard and had a ref that clearly had some sort of unsavoury relationship with richie mccaw as you never got pinged in the last 5 minutes!Your beginning to sound like the English post world cup......is that how you want to be known?!

Kearney wouldn't fear any full back in world rugby probably the only Irish player maybe healy to that would make the AB 15

@anotherfarce "are you still smarting after being comprehensively smashed by Wales in the world cup." hmmmm not sure who is confused the most but read my post again I don't think I am an Irishman and "heading home" means to NZ so will let you work it out. And yes you could have beaten us in the WC final, if you were in it but you were not...end of. Also please check your facts (and the spelling) of the personnel involved in that 1978 game. Andy Haden dived out off a lineout near full time and a penalty was awarded, the referee later said the penalty was for a completely separate incident nothing to do with Haden. Brian McKechnie kicked the goal and won the match for the All Blacks. So just a suggestion my Welsh friend if you are going to troll away make sure you get your facts right, do your homework and who knows if the Welsh tean do theirs they may not have to wait another 59 years.

Of course he has to say they can win and of course the AB will prevent that from happening...
It is quite possible but Kiwi pride and wearing the black jersey are what make the AB favourites beyond the talented lads on the pitch...

@Trader2
Are you still smarting after being comprehensively smashed by Wales in the world cup. Wales are on the up & you will see them beat NZ in these coming years. Yes the AB's are a great side & play out of their skin for their country & thats how it should be, but I think their card is marked now because Wales have also got a very good side. I strongly believe and it's easy to say that we would have beaten NZ in the world cup final provided we still had Adam Jones in play & hadn't been screwed over by that French/Irish ref.
That water is under the bridge now & a new chapter is opening for this Welsh side who are not giving the AB's the respect that other NH sides do on the field. While your having a poke at the Welsh, just remember that we have a side that CAN & have beaten them, there were also a couple of other occasions we were cheated in the 70's one of them when Murray Mceckney jumped out of the lineout to make it look like he was pushed to get a penalty in the dying seconds.
I hope the Irish do beat them but I cant see it happening playing the AB's on their home turf. I guess you will just have to wait for Wales to do it again for you, so sleep tight!!

these NH sides love to talk themselves up beforehand dont they, with less than no evidence to back themselves up. like i said before its very easy for an overwhelming underdog with nothing to lose to do this. i guess kearney just answered a question. im sure he is jittering at the prospect of facing dagg

It would be an insult to NZ and the ALL Blacks if he said anything else. Though I believe he would have been better to leave it at "our best chance is this game as it is our next." Going on did look a bit ridiculous. However Kearney comes with the right attitude to believe the Irish can do it and good luck to him for taking that attitude. Im looking forward to the clashes.

Well his hardly likely to say NZ are going to smash us is he.Every team must go into matches expecting to win it ,if not why bother turming up if your convinced your going to lose,as many know alot of the game is mental strength and will, coupled with a passion and drive never to lay down and keep fighting.Have Ireland got that atm ,maybe?? they certinally talk a good game ,as witnessed in the 6Ns .Now they have to prove it on the field of play .Myself have doughts they can ,but the players cant and can never say they do

I am heading home for three weeks and taking in all three games and I am all for witnessing history and what a great achievment if Ireland can do it, 100+ years is really too long for any team in any sporting code to have the wood on another, however I just cannot quite see it this time and I am basing that on the Irish fan's comments they just do not see that upbeat on their team's chances. AB's are always a bit scratchy first up but there will be enough new blood in the team to push things along. While I am confident and expecting AB's 3-0, it would be something special to see Ireland get up and it won't really impact on the AB's too much in the greater scheme of things. As a trade off I would give Ireland 1 win for another 59 years of emptiness for the Welsh.

We will beat Ireland. Why am I so confident?
It's not the stats that convince me, It's not the Haka, it's not even the jersey (although that is a big one). It's that in NZ we play a better brand of rugby than anywhere else on this planet, No one anywhere matches spontaneity with structure and speed with size like NZ rugby players do. Maybe it's the Polynesian/Maori/European mix that works so well, you can't disagree that some of our best players come from a mix of these cultures and backgrounds. I prefer to see it as not just one but many different things. I guess Ireland will beat the AB's one day, the laws of probability would have to say so? It might even be in June, but Ireland would do well to remember that one win is no mountain climbed? Good luck to the Irish all the same!

Look I know they beat Australia in the South Hemisphere in a WC but it really was a pro Irish crowd. The players even said it was like playing in Dublin.
Another thing is about the AB's is that they never show a lack of respect to any side.
That's why they have such an amazing record against competitive nations like Ireland, Wales, Argentina, Italy, Scotland, Tonga, Fiji, & Samoa. Given that the only side they've lost to out of that lot is Wales & the last time that happened was over 50 years ago.
They play for 80 minutes & they play for the jersey.
You just never know but I fully expect the AB's to come out firing at the Garden of Eden.

@capedcrusader took the words right outta my mouth. Surely It's a pre requisite for any team to believe they can do it. Do what exactly. Go on you can say it. You do realise that no one in that article actually said "we can win". Step up, raise the bar, match it with, and so on. bla bla. We are going over there and we want to win.
