@liam2me - you have a very short memory. Heaslip has put in some great performances.
This supposed crisis in the Irish second row leaves me a bit puzzled as to why exactly the IRFU have let James Sandford swan off to London Irish.
There are plenty of quality Irish players... Now if we could just have a coach that would give them a chance during these tour games.

Oh come on ladys and gents, I think we all know that DK won't go for big rafts of changes and will try to slot D'Arcy into the team where ever he possibly can.
D'Arcy to replace O'Connell whilst still playing at 12 ;)
P.S. What does D'Arcy have to do (or not do) to not be on the plane to New Zealand? Smother Dekkie's nearest relative in their sleep?

Big blow for Ireland, losing POC changed Ireland's 6N as he was the only one who showed any leadership (apart from Ryan).
For those saying it's a blessing in disguise, If it were that useless donkey D'arcy or Heaslip, neither of whom have done anything in green in years it would be a different story, but without POC and BOD, we have no leadership.

@ papachinzo
I understand your concept but disagree with some of your selections. Zebo is a poor tackler and David Kearney is a better prospect. Donnacha Ryan is by no means "our youth" and McLaughlin should start at six.

im with papachinzo here, id really like a young team aswell, but theres no need to drop sexton, healy, o driscoll etc.. drop the underperformers i.e o callaghan, d'arcy(even though i love d'arcy). so with that in my mind, here's my team
(1) Healy (2) Best (3) Fitzpatrick (4) Ryan (5) Tuohy (6) Ferris (7) Henry(VC) (8) Heaslip (9) Marshall (10) Sexton (11) Gilroy (12) McFadden (13) O'Driscoll(C) (14) Trimble (15) Kearney
Subs: Cronin, Ross,O'Brien,McLaughlin,Boss,Keatley,Earls
With Zebo, Felix Jones, Brett Wilkinson, O Malley, Boss, Toner, O'Mahony, on the outskirts of the camp and maybe play one or two tests.
Also,I want a backrow like the welsh, they aren't the best players seperately but together they all compliment each other, so Ferris makes the big runs/tackles, henry at the breakdown, and heaslip a mixture of the two and a leader on the field.

@papachinzo: you'd prefer to see dan tuohy start instead of O'Connell? That is insane. We're playing New Zealand in a 3 test series. Winning one of those tests should be the only focus. 4 year world cup cycles, the autumn series, the next six nations should all go out the window. This challenge needs to be faced with our strongest team and that includes O'Connell.

@Papachinzo
Interesting team lol ,and some of those players im sure will feature in Ireland teams in the comming years .Just cant see conserative DK doing it though this year, atm his obessed with RWC seedings this year taken from the IRB rankings in think late Aurtum early Winter?? .So Ireland avoid 2 big teams in their group come 2015

papachinzo, while I agree that the squad needs some freshening up and Kidney is too slow to make changes, the team you have selected would get absolutely annihilated in NZ. Some of the younger players would never recover from an experience like that. We need to bring a mix of youth and experience.
I totally agree that Tuohy has been overlooked for far too long, but we are a much weakened side without O' Connell.
Regardless, we're going to struggle to compete down there. Best chance will be the first test where theres half a chance of catching the ABs cold.

This could be blessing really, we all know what kidney is like when it comes to selecting a squad. This tour should be used to see how far behind our youth is. I'd like to see a 'Ryan - Tuohy' partnership during this years 'end of year tour' to New Zealand, with either Toner or McLaughlin on the bench.
I'd like to see the Ireland 22 shape up like this: 1.McGrath 2.Cronin 3.Fitzpatrick 4.Tuohy 5.Ryan 6.Mahony 7.Henry 8.Heaslip(C) 9.Marshal 10.Madigan 11.Gilroy 12.McFadden 13.Earls 14.Zebo 15.Jones., 16.Best 17.Court 18.McLaughlin 19.O'Brien 20.Murray 21.Sexton 22.Kearney
With the likes of O'Driscoll Bowe O'Connell O'Gara in the extended squad.

Always good to have O'Connell in the Ireland team but it's an ideal opportunity to give Dan Tuohy a long overdue start.
