Hey this man was a very good player, and when called upon for Ireland he played well, he was never the flashy player but he sure did an honest days work for club and country ever game!!

there are current Ireland international players in Kidneys first 15 who are no better then Mick O'd, Kidney needs to be sacked!!!!

Ireland need to have a 7's team and they need to play Zebo on the wing in the next batch of games

Jesus, reading these comments is sick....all these leinster bandwagons who have turned up in the last 4 years coming here and talking pure shit, yes micko wasn't a ball carrying influential second row but he was always a presence in the dressing, reliable in the lineout and powerful in the scrum, thank you micko,..he was just like cullen, only less ugly

Great Munster servant and honest player, who got far too many international caps. Bob Casey is a gent but he would be justified in reading this article and wondering how Micko got 23 caps at the same time as Casey was at his peak (not to mention others like Cullen). Good old Kidney and the IRFU.

No disrespect to O'Driscoll, who gave his all at all times. However, he can definitely look back with massive satisfaction at having played for his country so many times.

Seriously how could this sadden people? This is great news for rugby in general. For years it has baffled me how anyone can select this guy to play rugby yet alone play for his country! A truly woeful player.

Smart headline marketing at PR;-)

Congratulations to Mick for what has been a good career

Shame that he's retiring, Connacht could have really used him this season and then next. They really could use a few old heads with the young guns out there. Munster having 4 second rows of a high standard was never going to work. Hopefully Ian Nagle puts on a lot of weight in the summer

Thank BOD it wasn't BOD.

Or, rather, a decent club player, though one who has had a poor last two seasons for Munster. He was symbolic of the province's best efforts, even hitting O'Connell's standards at his peak, notably when the captain was struggling with injury. Those years marked the best of O'Driscoll's career. If Munster do miss him now, they're in a bad way.

This article is about Micko. He deserves better than 'at least it's not Bod'. Great servent to Munster. Was far better than Richie Grey last weekend. Sad to see him go.

I'm an Ulster fan and I can assure you it wasn't just Leinster fans that had a little heart wobble. Nobody ever wants to see BOD go.
