Wales tighthead Adam Jones insists his rugby playing preference is at the Ospreys, with his future still up in the air heading into 2014/15.

Wales tighthead prop Adam Jones has insisted his rugby playing preference is the Ospreys, as his future remains up in the air going into a new season.

The Lion, who has been linked with Bristol, Sale, Toulon and also London Welsh, is still without a contract as regions return to pre-season training.

Jones is playing the waiting game due to another stall in discussions regarding the Participation Agreement between the regions and the WRU.

But in positive news for Liberty Stadium fans, he told the South Wales Evening Post: "My number one choice has always been the Ospreys."

"They are my home region and where I have played my rugby for the past 11 years. I know the coaches and the players and nothing would please me more than to sort out a deal with them.

"It has been a tough time, the most difficult year of my career, but I don't feel let down by anyone.

"The Ospreys have been up front and said there's a contract there to be signed if the new participation agreement with the WRU is finalised. Earlier in the year, there was talk of a union package but the deal was conditional on the Ospreys pulling out. I have been locked both ways and as time has gone on clubs have filled their squads and used their budgets."

He added: "But I want to make clear it hasn't been me who has been stalling over a new contract at the Ospreys. If I had my way this would have all been sorted out months ago. Circumstances just haven't allowed. I just want things settled so I can play some rugby."
