Scarlets backs coach Mark Jones believes returning centre Jonathan Davies is ready for Wales duty on Sunday against England.

Davies started in his customary outside centre position on Saturday as the Scarlets recorded an impressive 18-13 home victory over Munster in the PRO12.

The win marked Davies' second appearance since tearing a pectoral muscle for Wales during their November defeat to South Africa, and his first in a month.

"His performance was pretty good considering the length of time he has been out and his lack of rugby," Jones told the South Wales Evening Post of the midfielder, who managed 65 minutes at Parc y Scarlets.

"He is a perfectionist so he will never be happy with his performance.

"But he has shown he is fit and with his first carry of the game that he has not lost any of that line-breaking ability.

"He will give Wales a boost when he returns back for duty on Monday.

"Thankfully, I don't have to make the decision because it will be a difficult decision to make, but whatever backline Wales put out next weekend it will be a good one.

"George (North) did a good job, particularly in attack against France, and Liam (Williams) was good on the wing.

"Having Jon Davies come back into the equation is not a bad thing and I am sure they will field a good side regardless."
