Ospreys and Wales lock Ian Evans looks set to be suspended for at least part of the Six Nations after being sent off on Friday.
Evans was handed a red card by referee Romain Poite on the 20-minute mark for stamping in Ospreys' 36-3 Heineken Cup loss to Leinster at the RDS.
Video replays showed Leinster lock Mike McCarthy having his head stamped on in a maul. The maul had moved past the ball and Evans appeared to be looking down. McCarthy was forced off the field.
With the prescribed ban for stamping ranging from two to 52 weeks, it seems unlikely that Evans will be available for Wales' opening game against Italy on February 1, if found guilty.
There was further bad news for Wales as both flanker Ryan Jones and hooker Richard Hibbard left the early due to injury.
