As i posted earlier ,all this means is the welsh mangment biting the bullet a little earlier than expected,After all if WG is Lions coach he wont be there for the 6Ns in 2013 .Even with his loss i still feel Wales have a good chance of a series win in Australia.More worrying imo is the amount of players getting injured recently ,i just hope they have no more and those injured are fit to traval in the summer

@ rockman - thanks. I'll take "mildly amusing" (which, in fairness, was probably over-complimentary and polite of you!).
I think that people's finances are having a massive impact on their attendance at the moment. There are too many competitions and opportunities to watch "your team" play. I love the fact that there are so many matches to see from the armchair, but I couldn't afford to go to even 1/2 of the matches on offer. And I'm a Bath fan, so it's not like we've got as many options as others.
To follow "my Teams", or just want to watch good rugby on my doorstep, I have (or had) the following reasonably easily accessible to me this year:
England Internationals (6N, Summer SA Tour, Autumn Tests)
Barbarians
Aviva Prem (and Championship)
LV=
HC
Amlin Challenge
Pro12
(Even T14 isn't too far away)
Then add in the B&I Lions / RWC in those years and there's a lot on offer. As I stated above - it's great from the armchair, but even to watch one match from each in a season, especially with the family, is too expensive.
Then consider what the teams are focusing on. They can't compete on all fronts (Bath can't seem to compete on any!), so they focus on a couple. So would you want to see your team sending out second-string players, who are expected to get beaten, "...but it's good for their experience"? Or would you prefer to cherry-pick the matches that are either significant, or you have a good chance of winning?

@APV1 Nice one. Thats Mildly Amusing!
I hope howley does well, he was an outstanding player and so far has done great stuff in a managerial role.
As an Irishman i fear how good the welsh are getting and the whole set they have put together. Their worst game in the 6 nations was against us yet they still deserved to win albeit via a ridiculous ref decision.
If only they could get the clubs to front up, Leinster annihilated Cardiff but more worryingly was the fact that there were no Cardiff fans there, at a Heineken cup 1/4 Final!!

Wouldn't it be terrible if Rob Howley got bitten by a (fairly harmless) snake whilst down under?
Snakes..?
Ladders..?
Oh, come on!
(Get well soon, Gats!)

That's what happens when you give away the secrets Mr Gatland
