Jontheref ......... thanks for the correction - obviously had too much Murphys Red when I wrote that one !!!. Shingler also put in a great performance but Tipuric is clearly still Sam's under-study. Looking forward to see how he gets on against Italy.

Italy may stay with Wales for 1st half as they always seem to do and fade badly after 50-60mins, see Sc Williams on for JR, Hook on for halfpenny, Ll Williams on for Phillips at about this time and watch the tries roll in......

Glad to see Wales arnt taking Italy lightly and have put out the strongest team possible .You always come a cropper when you take wins for granted imo and with a grand slam match on the horizon .It would be very foolish to risk it happening in this match by not putting out your strongest team .Wales should win and win well as long as they keep concentration and play to their abilities setting up a mouth watering match against France next week .

"(no dis-respect to Tipuric who put in a solid performance against Scotland). "
Tipuric played the 2nd half in Ireland. Had a very good game.
It was Shingler who played out of position v Scotland.Aaron, not Steve!
Make me happy, a pox on you too!
:-)

Why risk Roberts - stick Williams in against this poor back line. Can't believe the useless Hook is back in favour - bring back the pox!

I hope Italy will fight as hard and as it possible. Spirt, a lot of cool brain and some luck is nedded, I see a very strong Welsh side, time to put up the old Roman style barricades...

I'd give Lloyd Williams a start and see how much better the backs work with some quick ball. Phillips' service was far too slow against the English and one of the reasons they were able to pressure Priestland.

@ andy13 I agree with regards to Roberts. But just wondering however if the coaches have had a look at the Italian 10 channel and decided that getting Roberts steaming down there could do some real damage, and its worth trying to kill the game by half time, then get him off, along with Adam Jones and Halfpenny ahead of the following week.
Having nearly come a cropper in Rome in 2009 I suspect that they are taking Italy very seriously and are putting out the very strongest team available, and quite right that is to. I would however expect to see a fair few changes if a comfortable lead could be established and Italian heads drop as they did in Dublin. If Italy hang then they will have to keep the foot on the gas till the end. No complancy there and it shows intent to really put pressure on from the very first moment.

Save for Sam missing, it's probably Wales' best starting 15 (no dis-respect to Tipuric who put in a solid performance against Scotland). Not a bad reserves bench either !!!.
Hope Priestland will have regained his confidence after Twickers - It's good that they have kept faith in him for the Italy game, even though I would like to see Hooky given a chance at 10, someday soon.

Why not rest Jamie Roberts. He has seemed to be struggling since the world cup with his knee. They have some depth at 12 and a bigger game in France.
Give Hook or Scott the spot for this one in my opinion.
Otherwise all makes sense to me!

Looking forward to seeing Ryan Jones playing while he is watching from the bench - what a versatile dude !!! - or does that cryoptherapy chamber also clone players??.
