@ramage yea i truly hope for world rugbys sake he keeps his job at SA as they could become the whipping boys over the next couple years if so. if not and SRU finally see sense and let him go, the only other job for him is surely as a jester at a rugby club families day

@Daibok your last suggestion is a screamer lol I bet you would love that to happen but we would like to see him firmly hold on to his present position and long may he reign

It makes sense for him to want to make this move. While he has not necessarily seen the results on the pitch with the US...yet - history

will be kind. He has been building the sport up from the grass roots,

probably limited from further strategic development by

the weight of the NFL. The US will be hard pressed to improve further in this

professional age w/o their own pro league, as well as full

scholarships to play in Uni, so I think this opportunity is too good to pass up now.

Nevertheless, Melville's captained his national side, transitioned a

club from amateur to pro, to championship winner, and has grown the

sport from an executive level, in an introverted nation as far int

sport goes.

If there's anyone to repair the RFU, successfully link it with the

national side, and be a respected ambassador for the English game,

this is your man.

We'll be sad to see him go from the other side of the pond, but we are

certainly in a better position then we ever were because of him.

David Brent would be more appropriate, unless P de Villiers can be head-hunted.
