McCaw praises his pack

Two tries: Richie McCaw

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has hailed his forward pack, particularly his locks, after they thumped Australia 51-20 at Eden Park on Saturday.

Following a 12-12 draw in Sydney last week, New Zealand bounced back and recorded six tries on the day as McCaw claimed a brace in Auckland.

But the openside, who was also yellow carded for a ruck offence, was full of praise for his team-mates up front, who stood out in Round Two.

"They set the platform for everyone to play with the ball and rugby is a lot easier if you get some go forward at winning the contact and that's pretty much the difference for the majority of the game," McCaw said after the impressive victory.

Meanwhile, a disappointed Wallabies boss Ewen McKenzie said his charges were "too passive", allowing the All Blacks to build a first-half lead.

"Tonight was a great opportunity for us and we showed some character towards the end but we didn't get into the game," he said.

"We kicked off and got three points but it was one-way traffic after that."
