Stephen Larkham believes Ewen McKenzie must be "rubbing his hands together" as he watches the superb form of Henry Speight.

Stephen Larkham believes Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie is "rubbing his hands together" as he waits for Henry Speight to become eligible for action.

The Brumbies coach was speaking after wing Speight's outstanding performance against the Chiefs, which saw him break the line 12 times.

September 11 is the day the Fijian-born player becomes eligible to play for Australia and for Larkham he can imagine how McKenzie feels.

"I've got no doubt Ewen McKenzie's waiting and rubbing his hands together for Henry to become eligible," he told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"That can't come quick enough given his current form.

"With players like that, you can sense the crowd get out of their chair when people like that touch the ball and I really enjoy watching his form at the moment."

Brumbies director of rugby Laurie Fisher also added his own praise toward the flying wing.

"His ferocity with ball in hand, he just doesn't want to be tackled and it's outstanding," he said.

"What Henry's been able to deliver recently is absolutely world class and there's no reason why he wouldn't be producing something similar next weekend."
