Playing for ranking places: England and Australia

Saturday's clash between England and Australia at Twickenham will also decide third place in the IRB World Rankings come Monday.

England are the side in possession, with a 1.51 point lead over their Wallaby counterparts. They can widen that gap with a win this weekend, and can also gain ground on second-placed South Africa.

But victory for Ewen McKenzie's men would see them overtake the 2003 World Champions, re-establishing a Southern Hemisphere 1-2-3 placing in the World Rankings.

Whatever Saturday's outcome, neither side can slip lower than fourth place.

Elsewhere, first-placed New Zealand will look to maintain their 2013 winning run with victory over Japan in Tokyo - the first meeting of the teams on Japanese soil.

A win for the All Blacks will not impact the ratings, however, thanks to the vast difference in points and places between the two sides.
