@melkdave, just kidding on the "hetro" thing...I knew it was a typo. Glad to hear you sinned a little in your youth....the problem is I think some of these guys just want to be rugby players, not role models. I think that they should be disciplined for anything they do in a rugby context, but not fired or banned for stuff outside of rugby....just my view, nothing special about it.

@New_j4a

Sorry for that very bad typing on my part,and i have nothing against homosexuals what so ever.You all may think im being harsh ,but as ive said it riles that 2 potential greats of the game,act so idiotic,yes rugby players have always ,done stupid things ,myself including ,truth be told,but i never assulted anyone,crashed cars or committed burgulary Worst i did was jump off a bridge ,which looking back was a ridiculous thing to do .Also remember the press scrunity is intense these days,and rightly or wrongly players are role models.As to people losing there jobs ,of course if convited and locked up they are fired ,happens everyday ,or if a polictiain,tv presenter or someone in the public eye ect fired even if not convicted,or for just saying something stupid racist or non pc.Sportsman shouldnt be any different than JOE BLOGS ,and imoshuld be held to a higher standard ,as they are role models now

"Is this all necessary, Cooper is a burglar, End of.."

Did Cooper as a young kid get convicted as a burglar in NZ ??

Then again after watching "Once were Warriors" NZ documentary, I'm not surprised. It's Still 1977 in NZ last time I was there (two years ago, yes we lost and the Wallabies !!) !!!!

PS I did use the bathroom though and not the bar like the locals !!!!

@melkdave, you said "not being hailed as hetros" Is that an anti gay comment? Even so, your stance is a bit harsh. Have you never been in a fight? You really think that someone should be jailed and lose their job if they were involved in a brawl? I think that I just lost faith in the jury system

Rugby players drink, get drunk and fight, have done since the beginning of time. This is nowhere as bad as it used to be,

Phil Bennet urinated in a bar in NZ in 1977, (lions Captain!) punched a barman who told him not to, In the papers??? NOT

None of these players asked to be role models.

As for bringing the game into disrepute, Spectators and posters on this site do far more in that respect than Kurtley Beale ever has.

@Trinets2& Fatlanker

Your right Cooper hasnt got a crimial record ,but he should have,thats the point,im making.Beale is also allowed his day in court ill not deny that,but he should at least be suspended till its sorted.The RFU and NZRFU did exactly that when faced with the same problem ,also the FFR virtually ended Bastunards(sorry for spelling maybe wrong ) international career after his lying while on tour to NZ a few years ago,and causing a diplomatic incident.As i posted here ,they both have the potential to be greats of the game ,and it really riles me ,that atm they can seem to getaway with such behaviour,and be hailed as heros Its not as if its their 1st offences either..If either of us had commited these offences we would be FIRED from our jobs ,in all possibility, found guilty and locked up for sometime.Even the spoilt football (soccer) players are suspended by their clubs and national teams ,until its sorted out,and rugby is supposed to be better disaplinary wise ,are we now falling behind even Football in this rspect.Also Fatlanker ,what the hell where Genia and Pocock doing there ,its news to me ,and whernt they supposed to be in training for the test,and be in camp ,not drinking to the wee hours,if so they broke Deans own code of conduct ala J.O'C onnor before the RWC last year .If only they would act like responsible adults ,and just play their rugby ,instead of idiotic 10 yr olds,id be much happier

Bit harsh melkdave. He's entitled to his day in court...we still have presumption on innocence in Oz. Besides an eye witness going by the name of Taff reckons Pocock and Genia started the fight in the first place.

melkdave:

Beale has not been convicted of an offence (yet !) so benefit of doubt.

And Cooper ??? has no criminal offences ?? There was Windal Sailor convicted of recreational drugs, kick out of union for two years. Lote Tuqiri kick out for having lady friends in his room ! So the ARU do act. Unlike some unions where there are drunken episode and pinches thrown by naked players, wife beatings and handbags and crying forwards in bars late at night !! to name a few

melkdave says...

Oh no Beale is going to concentrate on playing rugby ,rather than getting drunk ,and punching people RUN FOR THE HILLS ,im so scared ..Doing what he is supposed to be doing,concentrating on his game ,and not acting like an idiot.Very lucky imo he isnt locked up and banned for bring the game in tp dispute.If the ARU and Deans ,wont or cant do anything about Australian players behaviour ,the IRB should do.Cooper and Beale could be greats of the game,but atm are just laughing stocks, for their off fileld antics.Both should be in prison contemplating their navals ,with their rugby careers over ,given their criminal offences,not being hailed as hetros .If we had committed those offences ,do you think we wouldnt be locked up atm
