Yes once again the IRB judiciary shows its bias towards NZ . It is obvious that Vuna, a kiwi, has been let off simply because of that. The IRB are in the pockets of NZ and absolutely in fear of upsetting them and we all know that cant be done. Once again another kiwi gets away with it. Oh hang on he plays for Australia as does Ioane another kiwi and wasn't that Harris fellow who kicked the winning goal one too. Hmmm that kiwi coach Dingo Deans is sure picking plenty of his countrymen to bolster the Wallabies lol.

Yet again one rule for some and another for others, pathetic.

Again inconsistency from those in charge. Dgiby got 5 weeks, Vuna ...NONE.
If he was a good player he would have got at least 3 weeks.

He is as lost in defence as SBW is, it's a league thing !

It really is interesting reading the comments from these self styled jurists who by watching the game on television burst into print as they consider they know all the facts so therefore they are right. The tribunal has come out with a decision after looking at the incident interviewing the people concerned and come down with a calm level headed decision. Sure it may not placate many of us but they have considered the issue and delivered a verdict. It is patently wrong to compare what has happened in other cases as each case must be heard on its own merits. We all know that even the courts of the land bring down verdicts we do not like and they too are not consistent on all similar cases as they too judge each case on its merits. The decision has been made and dealt with and we need to move on.
Westywales you make some fair points and for that you are to be commended. Yes there are these discrepancies for different parts of the game and they need to be sorted. I believe this tip tackle area has been brought in and some of the ramifications are still to be fully sorted.

A mad decisions! Lack of intent is now an excuse for utter recklessness. Warburton in the RWC tried to tackle someone and it went wrong. He didn't mean (clearly) to injur or foul. So all of a sudden these all seeing beings who rule on such judgements recognise that Vuna was so inept that he didn't mean to do something that was much much more dangerous than the Warburton issue. Utter madness. Obviously if he is that unable to control himself he should never be on a rugby field!
I agree with westywales that if there had been a bad injury that he would have had a red card and a ban. There ends the argument. The outcome of the tackle fortunately didn't result in an injury. You MUST not take that into account as you can't right it into a rule book!

Very disappointed in this verdict,as ive posted elsewhere lack of intent .Doesent mitagate the fact it was a very dangerous tackle .I wondrer what the verdict would have been if Halfpenny had ended up with broken bones or worse Vuna knows it was dangerous and didnt even try to stop /pull out .No player goes out to intentional make a dangerous tackle they just happen ,as its a contact sport .The IRB statements saying they want these tackles to be a thing of the past ,look very flimsy right now imo.Should be an automatic red and a 2-3 week ban whoever and whatever the circumstances , as it is for tip tackles if they really want these incidents to be a thing of the past

common sense prevails for once. been massively impressed with vuna so far 2 tests in and he started to look a dominant winger the way he tossed the welsh about in the tackle as a winger is awesome to see. 6 foot and 105 kilos, the guy is a beast.

Good call...it was only inexperience, there was no intent and he did try to pull out.

It was careless and clumsy and, yes, dangerous but not vindictive so I've got no problems with a let off or the fact that it was yellow and not red. He hasn't been a major threat anyway. Nowhere near that of O'connor or Beale. Actually hoping he does get picked as he could be a bit of a liability. As long as he doesn't seriously injur anyone of course...
P.S. This is the only point where I have a problem with the IRB guidelines for referees - intent. If Vuna had intentionally smashed Halfpenny in the air and brought him down on his head it would surely have been a red card and a ban but he didn't, so it wasn't, and the referee is the immediate judge of the situation. Why is it different for tip tackles? i.e. Technically, if the player is dropped from a certain height, blah blah, has to be brought down safely blah blah etc. etc. it's straight red, no question and NO judgement from the referee permitted as to whether there is intent or not. A player is far, far more vulnerable taking a high ball or lineout than they are being tackled on their feet so I think it's a bit of a daft situation as it is. My 2cents only, of course...
