@anotherfarce - right, because everyone was so quick to say the same when England players went on the lash in New Zealand...and they didn't even cause any trouble!

if that hotel bans QC, he can go back to North Stradbroke now his six-month ban from three bars there expired at end of May after his New Year 'performances'. Top bloke for a party, obviously.

Beale's injury is to his left shoulder, and he is right handed.

In the alleged incident, there's been no description of which alleged arm Beale used to throw the alleged punch.

Could someone in this situation be so utterly dumb as to throw a southpaw's haymaker?

Keen minds (including probably also his surgeon) wish to know!

nothing to see here, move along!

From Aust Herald Sun: "Beale has allegedly hit a security guard in the head with his forearm and a series of punches after the pair were evicted for disorderly behaviour. Cooper then grabbed the phone of a witness who was filming the incident, and smashed the device, it was alleged. The incident is believed to have been captured on CCTV as well as on mobile phone cameras by other patrons at the Hotel."

maybe on youtube tomorrow?

Well again 2 players act stupid .and get headlines for all the wrong reasons.Beale by the sound of itis very lucky ,not to be locked up on an assult charge .I guess theres no charges as he is a famous rugby player, and either the bouncer or police bottled it .As they did with QC and his burglary incident.Deans realy needs to get a grip on his players disapline ,even if they arnt in the present squad though injury ,as it isnt just them want JOC in trouble last year for drinking and missing a team funtion. The only way it seems to handle this problem is what SL and the NZRFU did .Sit the players down and tell them point blank ,that if they continue in this vein .Their international carreers are over,no ifs or buts just over .That seems to get their attention and the only thing that works by the look of it

Shame for Beale, the best 15 in the world and a wonderful all round talent. Dont expect any better from Cooper.

APV1 - see my post re Guildford - it didn't 'come to nothing' for him.

I don't think either of Beale/Cooper are even in the squad? on rehabilitation with view to the 4N Rugby Champ in August?

Regardless, not a good look, and maybe fits the 'brought the game into disrepute' category as per Guildford.

Cooper was supposed to be at an official Queensland RU function this morning but couldn't make it due to a 'sore throat'. Maybe Robbie tried to strangle him?

Double-standards to the fore. English players get villified for minor indiscretions, but this will probably come to nothing. A bit like Guildford and others.

Genia's absolutely right. Thank Goodness SL has the balls to drop players like Care, at the risk of playing a worse 9, to send out a clear message. Will Dingo do the same, regardless of what the ARU decide (and injuries dictate)?

And why aren't they training, instead of going out on the lash? Cooper could be doing upper-body work and Beale lower-body stuff. I'm no expert, but I wrecked my knee in the Army and spent a lot of my physio and gym time working on upper-body stuff, as I couldn't run / cycle / etc.

NHsaints - NZRU ruled Guildford's conduct was unprofessional and brought the game into disrepute, and imposed a four-match ban, also he was also ordered to undergo alcohol treatment and counselling. Also note he was in another country, off-season, and no charges laid by the police of that country. Not 'nothing'.

Dumb and Dumber?

Will Genia doesn't seem impressed; his statement on the incident: Genia said children and fans looked up to leading rugby players and there was a responsibility to behave in an appropriate manner. "They look up to players and sportspeople around the country and around the world and it's important to send the right message to kids about what's right and what's wrong, what to do and what not to do and to live that rather than send the wrong messages," Genia said.
