Fly-half Joshua Stander will earn a first senior start for the Blue Bulls in Saturday's clash with Western Province in Pretoria.
He was bracketed with Jacques-Louis Potgieter, who failed a fitness test on Friday.
Stander has played for the Blue Bulls U21 side and was an unused replacement in the victory against the EP Kings last weekend.
The 20-year-old will be one of four changes to the side that won against the Kings and he comes into the run-on side for Tony Jantjies who sustained concussion against the Kings.
