Kieran Read's participation this weekend for the Crusaders against the Reds is still unknown as he battles back from concussion.
The IRB Player of the Year picked up his second head knock of the season last month and missed the win over the Brumbies in Christchurch.
His participation will come down to whether he comes through a training session on Wednesday fully firing, with the Crusaders travelling to Suncorp on Sunday.
''It's all around the symptoms and how they feel in that moment,'' Crusaders assistant coach Tabai told Fairfax News.
''Probably the big one is how he feels after activity, so that will happen tomorrow [Wednesday]. If he's even feeling slightly off, it's just not worth the risk.''
Tom Taylor is another concussion concern for the Crusaders and will also be tested later in the week.
Kieran Fonotia's hamstring injury has opened up a spot for the 'Saders at 13, with Taylor in the running along with Nemani Nadolo and Reynold Lee-Lo. Both Fonotia and Matt Todd will be out for a month through injury, according to Fairfax News.
There was better news for Crusaders fans however as Dan Carter returned to training following his six-month sabbatical.
Carter is working his way back to match fitness and should be recalled after the June internationals.
