The agents of Ireland and Leinster number eight Jamie Heaslip are reportedly due to meet with representatives from Toulon this week.
Talks are reportedly set to be held in Paris on Wednesday between the two parties, according to The Irish Times.
Heaslip has already met with Toulon coach Bernard Laporte, reportedly in Dublin, with the 30-year-old number eight out of contract at the end of the season.
Heaslip, currently Ireland's best paid player, is also considering a new offer from the IRFU, as well as interest from Montpellier.
However Fabien Galthié's side have reportedly won the race for Australia number eight Ben Mowen, making the signing of both players unlikely.
Toulon are set to lose Joe van Niekerk and Virgile Bruni this season, allowing space in the back-row for both Heaslip and Ireland and Leinster team-mate Sean O'Brien.
Losing both players would be a significant blow for Leinster, with Leo Cullen and Brian O'Driscoll set to retire at the end of the season and Jonathan Sexton departing last season for Racing Métro.
