Jean Deysel and Jacques Botes return to the Sharks' side for their clash with the Blue Bulls at Loftus on Friday.
Cobus Reinach also comes in at scrum-half for Charl McLeod, who drops down to the bench.
Marcell Coetzee finds himself in the match-day squad having been released from Springbok duty by national coach Heyeneke Meyer for the battle.
Deysel replaces Tera Mtembu on the blindside flank, and the experienced Botes takes the place of Justin Downey at openside to equal ex-Free State Cheetahs wing Helgard Muller's record of 142 Currie Cup appearances.
The Sharks have been in rude health of late, and sit atop the tournament standings after a 31-25 victory over the Golden Lions last Friday.
The Bulls enjoyed a 52-10 rout of the Griquas in Kimberley last Saturday, and Sharks backs coach Sean Everitt warned his side will need to be on top of the game to emerge victorious this weekend.
"The Bulls put in an incredible performance against Griquas on the weekend," Everitt said on Wednesday.
"No-one else has been able to put that kind of score on them this year and, in Kimberley, Griquas are difficult so the Bulls were really good and we'll have to be at our best at Loftus on Friday."
