New Harlequins signing Nick Kennedy has been ruled out until November due to an operation on his knee.
Kennedy exacerbated a knee condition in pre-season which has required surgery, forcing the former Toulon and London Irish lock to wait for his debut.
The injury means young star George Merrick will partner George Robson in the second row this weekend against London Wasps.
Harlequins other second row, Charlie Matthews, is also not expected to be back in action until November due to a shoulder injury.
Other players unavailable for Quins are Tom Williams and Sam Smith, although both are out with short-term injuries.
