Cory Jane may yet make an appearance for the All Blacks this season after confirming he's on track to return in October.
The winger has been sidelined since injuring knee ligaments during a pre-season training session with the Hurricanes. As a result he sat out the entire Super Rugby season and the All Blacks' June internationals.
While the Rugby Championship will come too soon for the 30-year-old, he is aiming to get back out on the park during Wellington's NPC match against Auckland on October 5.
"DAY ONE of my 8 week training programme..Aim is to be back playing for the @WGTN_LIONS on the 5th October .. #The_Real_Hard_Work_Starts_Now," Jane tweeted on Monday.
"Day one of training done and it was as smooth as eggs..
Bring on 2moro," he added later.
If he makes this date, Jane could feature in at least two round robin games and a possible two further play-off matches before the All Blacks play Japan in Tokyo on November 2.
