Leicester Tigers new signing David Mele is looking forward to challenging for the number nine jersey at Welford Road.
Mele joined the Tigers from Perpignan and will have to compete with England and Lions man Ben Youngs for a starting berth.
The 27-year-old knows that a tough task lies ahead but he's ready to embrace the challenge.
"It's a pleasure for me to join Tigers," he told Leicester's official website.
"It's a chance to play with players here and to have Richard Cockerill as coach. I will try to do my best to play well for Leicester Tigers.
"I know there is competition for places. I need that. Here you have to work every day to prove something. And to prove you can be better than the other player.
"That's good for me. I hope I will be a better player here."
