Tries from Manoa Vosawai, Michele Rizzo and Simone Favaro led Treviso to a 30-10 win over Edinburgh at the Stadio Monigo on Friday.
A penalty from Greig Laidlaw and his conversion of centre Matt Scott's try handed Edinburgh a 10-0 lead in Italy after just 13 minutes, but ill-discipline crept into their game and mid-table Treviso eventually went into half-time three points to the good.
Fly-half Alberto Di Bernardo, the former Leeds player, missed his first two attempts at goal, but he eventually put the home side on the scoreboard 26 minutes in.
Di Bernardo added a second penalty and then converted a try from replacement Manoa Vosawai, while Tom Brown was in the sin-bin, to hand Treviso a 13-10 half-time advantage.
The third quarter was scoreless until Di Bernardo atoned for another miss at goal with his third penalty of the night on 57 minutes. Treviso continued to use their bench well and a try from replacement Michele Rizzo followed on the hour-mark, just 10 minutes after he had taken to the field.
An out-of-sorts Edinburgh struggled to find a response even when Treviso pair, Fernandez-Rouyet and Edoardo Gori, were both shown yellow cards within the space of four minutes.
Edinburgh's toothless attack failed to make their two-man advantage count and it was Treviso who had the final word when flanker Simone Favaro crossed the line in stoppage time. Di Bernardo added the extras to make it 30-10.
