No concern over Beale injury

Knock: Kurtley Beale

Rebels fly-half Kurtley Beale believes that he should be fit for next weekend's clash with the Waratahs after picking up an injury.

A strong second-half performance from the Brumbies lead to a 30-13 victory for the Australian conference leaders, with Force boss Damien Hill citing a lack of decision-making in the second-half behind his side's downfall in a match where both Beale and Wallaby star James O'Connor picked up knocks.

"It feels alright, it's not as bad as I thought it would be," said Beale to the Sydney Morning Herald.

"Hopefully in the next couple of days it settles down and I'll be right for next week. Apparently I'm a good healer so hopefully I'll be right over the next few days and do everything I can to get my body right for next week."

"There's protocols in place for these things which we need to stand by and it was in the doctor's opinion that [O'Connor] wasn't right," added Hill.

"He didn't pass the protocols so it was in the best interest of James that he did not take the field again.

"I was really happy with that first half, in the second half there were a few missed tackles, one or two numbers short at the breakdown and (times of) choosing to run when we should have been kicking.

"(The team needed) just a little bit of decision making, a little bit more accuracy around those foundamentals in the second half. We started reaonable well then a few things didn't go our way with kicks, a coupleof injuries and I suppose our composure fell away a little bit."

Brumbies coach Jake White sympathised with the Rebels losing key players throughout the clash in Melbourne, whilst also praising full-back Jesse Hogg who notched up his third try in two matches.

"They lost James O'connor, they lost [Nick] Phipps, [Scott] Higginbotham got a bang, Kurtley left the field at the end of the day there's not many teams that can lose that calibre of player and maintain their rhythm," said White.

"They were up for it, They got a win last week and they were always try and test us out wide which is part of your strength when you've got Beale and O'connor in your backs.

"I think Jesse must be one of the quickest players in Super Rugby. He runs 10.6 metres per second which is really fast for an outside back, in fact it's fast for any player and I think he's getting more and more confident. As soon as it's a foot race he backs himself. Last week he got oustide Digby [Ioane] and he scored, tonight he got outside James [O'Connor] and scored."
