Australia head coach Robbie Deans has named a 49-man training squad for the 2013 season, which will peak with the British & Irish Lions tour in June.
Rugby league convert Israel Folau is not selected while fly-half Quade Cooper is included following his public comments about the squad in 2012.
Also named is forward Hugh McMeniman, who returns from a three-year deal in Japan to join his Force team-mates Salesi Ma'afu, Ben McCalman and Nick Cummins in the international group.
"It doesn't guarantee them anything," said a Wallabies spokesperson on Monday.
"If you're not here it doesn't mean you're not a Wallaby this year - it comes down to what you do on the field.
"There's nothing to stop Israel Folau going out there and playing the house down to make the team."

I agree with you completely about Ben Mowen. He was outstanding last year and never got a shot. I thought Dave Dennis looked out of place in almost every international game last season. The only positive thing I saw him do playing for the Wallabies was that pass to set up Beale`s try to beat the Welsh at the last minute in the Autumn Internationals. Mowen deserved a shot on his Super Rugby form alone, not too mention he did an excellent job leading the Brumbies. Bringing Mowen into the Wallabies fold would also add another leader to the pack which was desperately needed throughout last season and will be needed to beat the Lions.

Deans can I ask why on earth do you keep overlooking Mowen didn't you see his super rugby performance last year he was like the best australian forward. why or why do you keep on persisiting with Horne, Mccabe, A.Faingaa, Nic Phipps they are complete useless and no way are we going to beat the all blacks with those backs. my tip stick to the backline that beat England in the spring tour and we should have a chance to beat the AB's like we showed them at suncorp stadium with a so-called C team.
