Wales reject return to Poland

Wales v Argentina Rob Howley

Home comforts: Rob Howley

Wales coach Rob Howley has confirmed that the squad will not be returning to Poland in preparation for the upcoming Six Nations.

Wales have frequently used bases in Spala and Gdansk ahead of the Six Nations and Rugby World Cup, utilising the famous ice chambers to speed up recovery times and citing the tough conditions as key in their preparation.

However, Howley has stated that this time the squad will stay in Wales in the build-up to the tournament.

"We are staying in the country this time," said Howley to the Western Mail.

"We have gone to Poland before on the last two occasions but it is a different environment now and we have chosen to stay at home.

"Hopefully we will have the English and French players available for the three days in that first week of training.

"That would give us the best available preparation with the squad we have got."

There's a good teaching English as a foreign language training facility free before the 6 nations in Iceland. It's the little extras.

Howley is not the man for the Wales post now, in the future or in the past - how is he still around?

he must have a lot of dirt on everyone else, to get the good jobs.

Pity they are not performance related!

I hope he means, "French- and English-based players..."!!

And I've spent many a happy hour training in Wales when I served in the Army. It often felt like a bloody ice chamber, I assure you!

Not surprising really when you consder, just how many players couldnt go to Poland at the start of the last trip, and arrived a week later.because they play for french teams now..Also the enhanced training only really works if its sustaned over a period of time ,1 week doesnt really offer substantially better benifits, than hard traing at usual facilities.

Awww no! But everyone knows that the only reason Samoa beat Wales was because of the trip to Poland!!! How on earth are we going to beat Wales now? They'll be invincible!!!! Damn you Rob Howley, you're just too smart for us.

Howleys turning into a real misery. No more overseas holidays. Or is it the saltmines in Russia later in the year. Having said that at the rate they're going they won't have any players left by the end of the year.
