Gloucester fly-half Freddie Burns will be promoted to the EPS squad next week after impressing so far this season, according to reports.
Burns won a first England cap off the bench against New Zealand, coming into the matchday squad as an injury replacement for Toby Flood.
Having impressed on debut and continued his excellent run of form with Gloucester in both the Aviva Premiership and Challenge Cup, it means that Burns is now in contention for England's fly-half spot ahead of the Six Nations.
According to The Daily Mail, Burns promotion from the Saxons could come into the EPS squad possibly at the expense of Harlequins centre Jordan Turner-Hall.
Owen Farrell is expected to continue in the ten shirt after guiding England to the surprise victory over the All Blacks, with Burns battling it out with Flood for a spot amongst the replacements.

Was always on the cards given his form this season ,myself i would also like to see 12Trees in the EPS,and it being extended for the 6Ns ,Theres no reason it has to be 35 -36 players only imo,Why not 46 so you can have proper 2 team practice /trial matches ,and try swithching combinations ect to see what might work ,and what offers potential possiblities .It certinally seems to work for New Zealand ,so cant be a totally bad idea .Other players id like to see in an extended EPS are G.Robson or ,G.Kitchiner,E.Daly,Seffon and Delon Armitage C.Wade and T.Varndal,,M.Kvensic T.Biggs and if he proves fit enough ect the return of T.Croft.Opening up places in the Saxons squad for other exciting talanted young players ,to impress Englands management like M.Hooper or G.Lowe M.Yardie ect
