Leicester Tigers have imposed a one-week suspension on back-row forward Brett Deacon following an internal disciplinary hearing on Monday.
Tigers officials have reviewed the incident in which Deacon was sent off during the second half of Saturday's victory over Bath at Welford Road and found him guilty of striking an opponent.
"Brett has been banned for seven days and he will miss the Heineken Cup Round 3 match against Benetton Treviso this weekend," said the club.
"Brett regrets his actions which left his team with 14 men during the second half of a vital club match."
