Hore cited over Davies strike

25th November 2012 20:15

In the dock: Andrew Hore

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for his clash with Wales lock Bradley Davies in the opening minutes on Saturday.

Neither referee Craig Joubert nor his assistants saw the ugly incident, but New Zealand coach Steve Hansen admitted he expected his hooker to be cited.

Wales coach Warren Gatland was enraged by the incident.

"It does not look the best in the world. It looks like he (Davies) has been caught from behind,' he said.

"You do not associate the All Blacks as being a side that resort to cheap shots, and I hope that is not the case and that maybe it was an accident.

"Bradley was a big loss to us and it took us a bit of time to cope."

as it's an English judiciary, xpect they'll look at their own hisory of standard-setting when it comes to the penalty. A good start would be their own international Danny Grewcock, whose penalties include, but are not limited to:

five-week ban for kicking

six-week suspension reckless use of his boot

two months suspension for biting

five weeks for stamping

two-week spell for punching

one-week standdown for stamping

three months for punching

As this is Hore's first ever judiciary appearance in 245 first class games, he should obviously be treated far more harshly than Grewcock, who it seems 'didn't know better' and after all, was an Englishman!.

The desperate will stretch to any length to get one over these ABs . Eddie Butler will always be remembered as the journalist who called G Henry overpaid and overrated . He's as wrong now as he was then and still getting paid to write trash just like his fellow troll Stephen Jones . Hopefully Hore will get a ban he's due and Dane Coles can step up for England .

The people trying to justify an act of violence that off the field would result in prison time should be really proud of themselves. Well done, really well done.

The TMO needs to be given the power to intervene in these instances. Should have been 15 V 14 for 78 minutes of that match, but whatever punishment he gets won't be of any benefit to Wales now I''m afraid.

8-12 weeks, are you for real? Wreckless no doubt, the dsamage was more than likely caused by his knee as he fell than anything else. Personally I think he should go for two weeks, especially if you bracket it the same as Greylings hit on McCaw.

Kiwi fans in my opinion have every right to be annoyed if Hore has yhe booke thrown at him considering the amont of times cheep shots on McCaw go unpunished.

Planet earth calling jmanngod,

"last 3 incidents involving ABs that I remember (going back to 2005) all occurred with opposition players trying to disrupt the ruck"

I didn't realise you were a comdian from all the stupid posts you have had !!!

Last 300 incidents involving the ABs (namely McCaw) going back as only last week all occourred when he was disrupting the ruck !!!!!

"Stats show that the ABs are the most disciplined team"

What the stats don't should is the bias and blind eye of the law shown towards anyone in a black shirt.

"Hore's clumsiness" "harmless action"

"The sun is shining and the beach is starting to look good" you are on a different planet or have never left NZ.

No problem with a ban for this and as a kiwi im disappointed that this happened as you play hard but you play fair. It also took away from the first 50 minutes where we blew wales out of the water. Media needs to calm down as the bans on players in recent times are very lax or non existant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT2LnhR6mhY (no ban) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FQkwYfqDnU (no ban) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoS9FmlbwnM (5 weeks) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXe0_b8l6kI (2 weeks) and was only a yellow card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53ygseQDp_o&feature=related (nothing). The point is all teams are guilty of off the ball, illegal stuff. So before people get on their highhorse this stuff unfortunatly goes on all the time. Theres probably other incidents in that game that wasnt picked up. Based on some of the other footage above its hard to see how he can get more than 5 weeks as some of this other stuff isnt any better. However I think he will be made an example of. Once again no problem as long as its consistant. It hasnt been all year so maybe mr vosper should review all the tapes of every ban and give some extra weeks out!

The travesty will be if the citing committee are consistent, then he'll only get 2 weeks ala Greyling and Higginbotham (flying elbow to the head and headbutt respectively). Either way I'd really like to see Hansen take a leaf from Heyneke Meyers book (re Greyling - not his coaching manual...) and never allow the seal shooting coward to don the Black Jersey again

I love old Horey he has been one of my most fav abs for a while, hes just a nugget with powerfull mitts who is as good as most no 7s at the breakdown and can carry the ball and off load well. Send him home! give him the old turps and a wire brush up the bum for around 6 games and then get the man back playing asap.

Hi dropkick,

The reason why McCaw gets biffed and battered is because he is always on the wrong side of the ruck and opposition players are tired of refs turning a blind eye to it. They seem to be taking the law into their own boots as it were.

I can go on ad-nauseum (have I spelt it right?) about all the injustices past and present, and the ABs have had their fair share dished out to them to my annoyance, but lets stop this silly game of connecting every bit of thuggery to past ones.

Hore's hit was intentional, cowardly, dangerous and unnecessary. No ifs and no buts. I hope he gets a long ban, and if not, I hope the NZRFU give him one. As a fact I don't care whether I don't see him in the ABs again.

As for shooting defensless seals from a boat, that about describes him. Get rid, there is enough talent in NZ without his sort.

Jmanngod, you are a cretin. If you have children and they play rugby, I would like your opinion on that happening to them.

@ Cats_Meow - "the fact is - he knocked a player out and put him in hospital with a swinging arm."

Big call. Are you sure? Or was it the falling on top of him that knocked him out?

Or shall we just wait for the judiciary?

Yes, apologies for what Hore did. He should be punished accordingly.

However, didn't anybody notice, that what had compounded the incident was when Hore's knee accidentally hit Davies' head. I think that made the incident bigger than the initial strike.

Must be an England game coming up this week because as regular as the Winter Solstice the UK press and one eyed supporters start frothing at the mouth going into an All Blacks foul play and cheating frenzy.

Next up will be the annual haka bashing missive.

Yawn
