Leicester name side to face Maori ABs

Leicester have named their XV to face the Maori All Blacks at Welford Road on Tuesday, with George Ford and Mathew Tait starting at 10 and 15.

Louis Deacon returns to captain the team, while fellow internationals Tait, George Chuter, Jordan Crane, Geordan Murphy and Anthony Allen, if he is not retained by England squad, are also in the 23.

Adam Thompstone returns to the backline, Australian scrum-half Patrick Phibbs makes his first start for the club and Fraser Balmain is given a start in the front-row alongside the experience duo of Boris Stankovich and George Chuter.

Tigers will wear lettered shirts which will also carry the Poppy Appeal logo. The shirts will be auctioned online by the club to raise funds for the annual Royal British Legion Poppy appeal.

Good team put out by Leicester,and nice to see them wearing the old alphabet shirts lol.Havent seen them in a long long time.Echo others its a shame not on tv or even being streamed online.

He has played once, then got injurred and for last few games has been in NZ getting married, something Tigers agreed to as part of his contract, as they have with many of their overseas players. He apparently returned this week.

Will be very exciting to see how Matt Tait does at #15, a strong Maori side but Tigers should be favorites, playing week in, week out with each other, at home, and although it may be a side missing some influential players like Cole, Flood, Youngs etc its hardly a weakened side
