Boks must stay grounded - Meyer

Grounded: Heyneke Meyer

South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer insisted that his side have a lot to work on ahead of facing Scotland.

The Boks came from 12-3 behind to win 12-16 in Dublin against Ireland, tightening up their defence and taking control of the match in the second half. Following a mixed tournament in 2012's Rugby Championship, Meyer was happy to get a result.

South Africa will now travel to Edinburgh to take on Scotland at Murrayfield, before finishing off their tour against England at Twickenham Stadium.

And head coach Meyer insisted that his side still has a lot to work on ahead of facing the Scots.

"We've been under the sword a few times this year and we'll take a lot from our win against Ireland," said Meyer.

"But we have to keep our feet on the ground and stay humble. There's still stuff to learn and Scotland are waiting for us.

"We'd like to stay unbeaten on this tour but Scotland are a great team so we won't be arrogant.

"There is a lot of confidence growing in this team. There's a great vibe.

"Losing to Ireland would have been a huge setback because I have so much faith in this team and what they do."

The ABs need to stay grounded. Not the BOKS, they are playing the worse rugby I have seen in years. The ABs are a world apart. HM is worse then PDV.

How could you possibly get over confident from a performance like that? The only reason SA won is because Ireland some how managed to play even worse than they did.

yep agree with #boksmashoffice the Boks need to be more creative HM one dimensional game is outdated. also Boks need Juan de Jongh to start, Zane must be replaced by Jaco Taute, also Mvovo ahead of Hoorgard...

humble my ass. He better get more creative. Surly Rhule and Jjantis must be on the bench for the next match. I was at the Aviva. The Boks were very poor. I saw sideshow bob. He just is not international fullback. Taute should be 15 with De Jongh at 13. The forward were poor in the first half but fronted up in the 2nd half. We really have to improve next week.
