Toby Faletau: Wants to make up for loss of Dan Lydiate

Wales are prepared to tackle themselves to a standstill in their upcoming Tests to compensate for the loss of injured defensive king Dan Lydiate.

That is the word from Dragons number eight Toby Faletau who believes his back-row partner's absence through an ankle injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the year, is a massive loss for the side.

Lydiate made 147 tackles for Wales last season - an astonishing statistic for someone who was also battling injury during the World Cup and the Six Nations.

Wales host Argentina at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday and Faletau feels the entire team will have to do their bit on defence.

"Dan is a massive loss," he told the South Wales Evening Post.

"He was the Six Nations' player of the tournament last season and is a hard player to replace for the Dragons and Wales.

"We will all just have to do more in defence.

"Some of the things he does do not get noticed by everyone."

The fact that they are already talking about how they must defend means they are going to let the Pumas come at them, and seem to already be taking a defensive attitude. You need to take the game to the Pumas. I feel that the Welsh are going into the game with the wrong attitude. They will look to tackle instead of taking the game to the Pumas. GO PUMAS!!

Defense wins matches against unimaginative attacks. Just look at the Wales Vs England RWC warm up match in Cardiff last year.

To Argentina's credit through, they scored some of the best tries in the entire Rugby Championship, so we'll just have to wait and see...

What ,Wales are going to tackle like demons to offset the loss of Lydiate.I would expect them to do this even if Lydiate was fit and playing. What a totally nonsensical article
