Canterbury have named George and Sam Whitelock on their flanks for Wednesday's meeting with Hawke's Bay at McLean Park.

Canterbury have named George and Sam Whitelock on either flank for Wednesday's clash with Hawke's Bay.

The latter returns from international duty with the All Blacks to play in the unfamiliar position of blindside, with his brother captaining at seven.

Willi Heinz's inclusion is the only change from the backline that dominated Northland last Friday while Matt Todd is given a week on the bench.

In the other changes to the pack, Luke Katene and Codie Taylor come in for Joel Everson and Ben Funell at second-row and hooker respectively.
