The arrogance of a 32 year old league player who doesn't come off a drugs ban til mid-November thinking he can get a premiership contract with no experience and not even having played league recently. 'I've smashed all my PB's in the gym and because I haven't played for so long, I haven't been taking any knock. That will have the effect of prolonging my career' Great, there are 18 year old lads smashing PBs in the gym who have played union longer, won't expect as much pay and will have a career in the game for 15 years or so. The worst part about this is I fully expect some idiot to sign him as well.

@ lawynd - so I guess, as Frooschman suggests, London Welsh have their new signing...

Gleeson is trouble, always has been, which is why after numerous chances no Super League club is willing to give him a contract...that and his probable excessive wage demands now, because he's no longer the player he was. Any union club above the third domestic tier that offers him a contract is desperate.

No thanks! I, for one, don't want another 30 something ex League player coming to try his hand in Union, and a drug cheat one at that. Andy Farrell thought he had another 4 years or so left in the tank. After the injuries, learning how to play the game ( and not quite grasping it) we ended up getting little more than a year out of him really.

@ Centre12 - as I mentioned on another, similar thread, Eastmond has been playing regularly for Bath United and has had a couple of run outs for the firsts off the bench. I think we're still hungover from rushing Jason Robinson and, effectively, delaying his successful transition to Union.

I think Eastmond will be seen more this season. At least, I hope so.

Centre12 - I've seen Eastmond in the 22 and play. Looked quite tasty but my impression is that there was a lot of time needed to adjust to union? Would expect / hope to see much more of him this season as he looked a bit of a handful going forward. The benefit is he's a youngster with time to adapt and (one assumes) the will to learn. Conversely, one might suggest that given his advanced years and chequered history Gleeson is struggling to secure a super league contract and so is looking to pastures new? Can't see it myself. Although there's always London Welsh. Alongside Mr Henson.

not many 30+ League converts succeed at centre in union.

Sale I guess will be keen looking for a centre. He's no giant... Maybe Robinson can mentor him.

Wonder how long it will be before people mention him playing for England, I'm not to sure what to make of this but 32 is leaving it pretty late, what ever happened to Kyle Eastmond, he's been at Bath for over a year now and I'm not sure I've even seen him in the match day 22 let alone starting for Bath.
