People who try to discredit other people's achivements are usually the types then never try anything in the first place. tha_mai, you have not come over as someone who's opinion really matters.
I've read about the USA's triumph in the french olympics in paris, they trained really hard, they sweated for that medal. They blew away France in what was an incredibly hostile and downright ugly environment. If they made their story into a movie I'd watch it and thoroughly enjoy it! They are famous. Most dedicated rugby nutters know about the USA and rugby in the olympics, so yeah they deserve to be in the hall of fame. Why diss them? it just says more about you than anyone connected to this story, you sound like someone in the 1924 french crowd.

Trinats2 you're a knob... think you're funny but you're not. You're dumber than a bag of hammers. To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people. I've known sheep who could outwit you. I've worn aussie cloths with higher IQs, but you think you're an intellectual, don't you, ape? Nobody likes you monkey boy. I don't wanna talk to you no more, you empty headed, animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction.

Dear Ed:
If i wanted a sanctioned Chinese style website I'd sign up to one. I enjoy the freedom of speech here, the stirring, the banter, but mostly the rugby reports (even the one eyed view points)
If they can't take it, maybe they should take their ball and head home !
The stir was to point out no one is perfect, and a similar interesting fact, just like in the previous post by tha_mai.
Is it fine to make derogative remarks about the Parisians and not the Kiwis ?
Cheers

Interesting when you read/know the whole story. Never the less, they do hold the title.
I wonder if in 100 years will someone come on here and add "Visiting supporters and players were insulted and spat on by local Kiwi fans in the 2011 RWC" ?
The editor says.... Trinats2....no one likes a troll. You're often good fun, but you are clearly just stirring this time. Give it a rest.

A joke, novelty value only in rugby's history.
1920 - only two teams played - USA and France
Paris Olympics 1924, add Romania for a three-team contest.
Paris 1924: "England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales had refused to enter because of the French fans? reputation for-violence; New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa could not afford to travel to Europe."
"The American players found themselves insulted and even spat upon by Parisians when they left their hotel". Final: USA 17 France 3. "The French team took it well. The crowd did not. The crowd began to turn into a mob, and the police had to protect American fans in the stands who began coming under attack. An American reserve was assaulted and both his team-mates and referee Albert Freethy needed the protection of 250 police officers to leave the field of play. The 'Star Spangled Banner' was howled down as the medals were presented."

I would assume some of the players are still alive. Are they aware of the honour? What does it mean to them?
