GoWalesGo- No the best thing for English rugby would for the RFU to come into the 21st century and just make sure that the team which wins the Championship gets promoted, regardless. What incentive does it give to clubs in the lower leagues if after a long hard season where they've fought tooth and nail to win the league if the RFU just turn around and say 'Sorry you'll add nothing to the Premiership and we think you'll get smashed every week, so you're not coming up'. If LW are not good enough to stay up then so be it, but at least they're gonna get the opportunity to give it a go.

For all those going on about the number of London clubs in the Prem, can i remind you that England has two professional leagues and another 3 semi-pro below them. Of the 24 clubs in the two pro leagues only 6 are from London. In the same two leagues there are also 6 clubs north of Nottingham. The point being that the Prem is not the be all and end all of rugby in England, and if you look at the wider picture London clubs don't dominate the numbers.

@GoWalesGo - who cares about what's best for English rugby?? It will be good for Wales and based on the current rules, it is clear they should be promoted.

In terms of them being competitive - it will be interesting to see what investment they can scrape together. Little time left though. If all the teams are based in London then so be it.

I think the reason Newcastle will consider legal action is because so far all their finance forecasts have been based on the decision to stay in the Premiership. Obviously they should be relegated but because the panel initially told them that they were going to stay up, then they probably made their recruitment plan/ player transfers based on the fact they were going to play premiership rugby.

Put yourself in the shoes of a player who's just signed for Newcastle thinking you were going to play in the top level only to be told just before preseason that actually you will play in a lower level. This is neither Newcastle nor Welsh's fault, just the RFU

No to LW.

Breeding club for Welsh players, offers no benefit to Englands national team.

We are allready seeing the exodus, of Welsh coaches, players, jumping the Welsh regions as its on its Ars*.

The best thing for English rugby would be for London Welsh not to be promoted. There is no point, they have a terrible squad, no infrastructure, no "home" ground, no supporter base of any kind, no finance. They'll be smashed and sent back down to the Championship in no time. Plus it'll be another London club which the Premiership doesn't need quite frankly.

Newcastle will consider legal action if they're relegated for finishing bottom of the league?? On what grounds? This is whats supposed to happen you morons! And quite frankly relegation has been just around the corner for about the past 5 years for Newcastle

is this still going on... I thought it was decided that because they play in lime green socks that there was no place for them in the Premiership.

Newcastle have indicated they will consider legal action if they are axed from the Premiership.

How sad, they were last in the league, they should be relegated.

Hope London Welsh win their appeal.

Newcastle can bugger off.

If LW are not allowed in the premiership, the old farts need a slap round the head, as there is NO reason why LW shouldn't be replacing Newcastle.
