THE BARBARIANS RUGBY CHARITABLE TRUST

The Barbarians Rugby Charitable Trust was founded in 2004.

Its general principle is to support worthy causes and development of the game at all age levels wherever deemed appropriate throughout the world.

In the last six years clubs, provinces and unions in Georgia, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Belgium and Tunisia have received donations from the Trust.

So not that obsolete or diluted?

RugbyLocos says...second string welsh side that the Barbarians will face - what is the point of that ?

Wales have a surplus of test caps to hand out !

Barbarians played on the 9th May v Loughborough Students - I am unsure if any players on the students side of Welsh descent were awarded test caps. (joking here before anyone gets all upset)

I hope this Barbarians side makes a better showing than the team that lost 11-60 v Wallabies in November

Unfortunately, the whole Barbarians thing has become diluted and, in my opinion, obsolete since the dawn of the profesional era.

Wales will not be fielding any of their first Australia test starting XV - it will literally be a second string welsh side that the Barbarians will face - what is the point of that ?

Centre12, how can you say you don't expect much entertaining rugby from the barbarians with Mike Tindal on the pitch? Surely it depends on how much he's drunk before hand and if he mistakes little Rory Lawson for a dwarf!

Duncan Jones vs. Adam Jones. Just awesome.

I'm not sure whether this is just because the sport has changed dramatically or just that there is a limit on people's availability but, the squad feels shorn of any heart-stopping talent. Back in the day, the Baa Baas would have been a proper who's who of world rugby. There's some good players in there but mainly club pedigree rather than international and the has-been list really only has Williams and Muliaina of any note.

Got to say that looks a very poewerful barbarains squad and to eleaveate @centre12s worries both M.Muliaina and D.Traille can play centre and have international experiance there.Got to say really looking forward to the Barbarains matches as i expect to be seeing alot of new talant from England and Wales ,just how will they cope with a hard bitten experianced barbarains team

Why have they selected 7 back three and only 3 Centre's at a push 4 if you count Contepomi??? I don't expect to see much attractive rugby with Tindall and Fuimaono-Sapolu, a lot of crash ball i'd imagine, i'd rather have Schalk Brits playing a #13.

I wonder if Balshaw and Sackey would have gained anymore caps if they stayed in England.

Jerome Fillol & Antoine Burban both fulfil the "uncapped" criteria. But I thought the Baa-Baas always included a cross-code player too...
