@ APV1... if I may be allowed to correct myself... Seriously though, I hope your blokes give the 'boks a run for their money so as to build on what was acheived in the 6N, with the added bonus that it might persuade the other lot that there's more to the game than huge forwards & a FLY HALF who stands deep & kicks the ball a long way. Thank you.

Hi isthatrightref,

That other lot you refer to must be the AB's. The Boks don't have a 5/8th, they have a fly half. But a good description of AB rugby anyway.

Hi Prince aka the poster formally known as APV1

I will try to be more obnoxious and brain-dead in my posts. Sorry to dissapoint you your majesty.

The reason why a number of us have added the 2 behind our usernames is due to some problem on PR last weekend which deleated our posts and barred us from entering any further posts under our usual name. We all had to re-register, and adding the 2 still meant we were identifiable.

Of course Trinats how stupid of me you were talking daylight saving which has been over for about 5 weeks but heh you are good at talking about things in the past and the build up from NZ never starts 30 mins early so where the hell did you get 4pm or 5pm or whatever from. Sorry it is hard sometimes to translate your ramblings. Anyway lucky for the Northern Territory you don't live there so you are not an imposter in that sense although you do pose as a knowledgeable rugby fan.

As to the team I didn't see all the games but think that Genia should have got the nod for 9. His game has improved this year without having to worry about QC stuffing things up outside him (talking about Wannabies here) and on Sunday anything the Red's did (which wasn't that much) started with him.

@ JayStarr - it will really depend on how much the dirty Saffas go out baying for blood, especially in the mid-week games. As is an accepted fact, all Saffas are dirty cheats. No debate there. But what England need to watch out for is their deliberate maiming tactics, as employed in previous tours. Add in a couple of biased refs (for once in the Boks' favour!) and some food poisoning and we could be in for a cracking tour.

@ isthatrightref - I think you could be right. If we check out the London 7s this weekend, you'll see it being trialled, just in time for the tour.

Unfortunately the colours often run and it just looks black. All black. With a red rose on it. That's what happened in the RWC. Obviously.

Retard, we don't have daylight savings here in QLD so when a games kicked off at 7:30 in NZ that was 4:30 here in QLD allowing for the build up on Fox sports, that's 4pm TV coverage starts. Since day light savings finished/started ?? it's been 5:30 pm (or 5 pm live TV coverage Just line the 7pm and 9pm kick off's I had don't actually kick off until 7:35pm)

I said "you can" But once again you are so one eyed you couldn't see this. Have a rumbo and chill bro, you'll work yourself up.

@ APV1... any truth to the rumour that Ringinland's new alternate strip will be predominantly green with narrow gold, black & white hoops? And that the Rose will be framed by the Southern Cross (inverted of course)?

@ APV1: Bwhaa haa haa!! Thanks - I needed a good laugh...

Of the NH teams I rate Wales the highest - and I actually think they stand a chance of winning their series in Australia... IF they bring their A-game. Even though SA and NZ have new coaches and will have new-look teams, there is no chance in hell England and Ireland will win a test series in South Africa and New Zealand's own back yards - NO WAY..!

They'll stand their best chance in their first games - both SA and NZ will be very uncohesive and probably depleted (thanks to the injury plague going through Super Rugby at the moment)... but they won't win their 2nd or 3rd tests. UNLESS SA/NZ won the 1st and 2nd tests - then they might rest players for the 3rd so they can get a breather before returning to Super Rugby...

But win the test series? I don't think there is anything more unacceptable to the Springboks (and most people in South Africa) than to lose a test series to England in South Africa! Those guys would die on the field before that happens... So unless you can come with the same determination, forget about it mate!

And another thing...

@ Stellenbosched2 - you say that, "The one problem I have with PR's team of the week is that I can't comment on it. To be fair, you have to watch every match played the previous weekend."

What rot! As a good example of this myself, you don't have to know anything about anything to have an opinion. In fact, knowledge of the subject often renders you rediculous on a forum such as this.

I think you need to spend less time watching / reading about and / or playing rugby and more time having ill-infomed opinions about it.

Slacker!

Heh Stellenbosched2 liked that but can we cannot include Trinats in that as he only plays with himself! Trinats assertion that he and his mates (he has mates?) watches a Friday night game at 4pm seems a bit strange given that the games from NZ on Friday night start at 5:30pm AEST. The only place he is watching live at 4:00pm in Oz would be in the Northern Territory, yet he prattles on about "one of the advantages of living on the east coast". So either Trinats has his times all confused and given his usual state of confusion that is quite possible or this rabid Queenslander doesn't even live in Queensland? This of course may not be news and perhaps I have missed it before but Trinats is like some of those Queensland rugby players who left the place for a better life. Nothing wrong with that but has he been pretending all this time. Explain please Trinats????

APV1 you are a very funny actually I hope you are right this year because everyone in the SH is sick of us always belting the bejesus out of you NH wallys. Unfortunately England have no chance and while I would like to see history made before I move to a (hopefully) higher plane it won't be this year and this Irish team, Wales may have a sniff but unlikely.

Trinats mate I watch all the games even the Saffa games, a small consolation and benefit of being the dad.

IMO instead of the list PR has come up with I would have these blokes in their respective positions.

14 Henry Speight (Brumbies)

10 Pat Lambie (Sharks)

8 Josh Strauss (Lions)

7 Liam Gill (Reds)

4 Scott Fardy (Brumbies)

Mate I hear what you saying about Higgers, he is exceptional no doubt but Strauss single handedly kept the Lions in a game against the top performing team at the moment. Completely agree that Gill was the stand-out 7, only a certain gentleman with a musical instrument in his mouth missed this.

Stellenbosched2:

Mate, you haven't trained your wife well enough !

Advantage (one of many !!!) living in Aus (east coast) is that you can catch a game after work with mates on Friday live at 4pm from NZ then the Live game at 7pm and then 9pm in perth (hence Perth getting a team in super rugby). I don't watch the live games in SA (to much kicking to stay up for) but will record the Reds if playing in SA.

D id anyone actually watch the (not very) Super matches?

I n my opinion, all SH teams and players are worthless.

O bviously some of you will beg to differ. But you'll all be wrong. Again.

C onsider this fair warning - the Big 3 from the NH are coming!

R un, whilst you still can.

E ngland are the best in the world. Fact.

JayStarr says...

@ swiwi: exactly!

@ Trinats2: Are you the imposter Trinats... or the new and improved Trinats..? Anyway, TJ Perenarra gave one of the best scrum-half performances I have seen in a very long time... The things he did brilliantly had little to do with the weakness of their opponents. As for Higgenbotham - I completely respect him, think he's a brilliant player when on form and think he had a very good game this weekend... All I'm saying is that Josh Strauss and Marcell Coetzee were absolutely immense and should've been there ahead of Higgenbotham.

@ kiwilad: Cory Jane was fantastic - I agree - but Henry Speight was terrorising the Waratahs... His best game for the Brumbies in my opinion - and certainly the best performance from a wing this weekend. He looked dangerous every time he touched the ball - no other wing did this weekend.

@ Stellenbosched2: Are you the imposter Stellenbosched... or the new and improved Stellenbosched..? Anyway, I watch all the games every weekend - and then all the highlights on Boots & All and Re:Union :P And yes, I'm not married... (thank god). Lol. I record the games on pvr though, so I can fast-forward through all the stoppages, scrum resets, etc., so it takes me less than an hour to watch a game... So if you did it like that, I'm sure you could get all the games watched before the end of the weekend! It's no more than 2 hours a day.

Posted 08:51 09th May 2012

Stellenbosched2 says...

Oh yes, before someone points out the benefit of recording games, you still have to watch those games sometime before Tuesday morning.

Posted 05:54 09th May 2012

Stellenbosched2 says...

The one problem I have with PR's team of the week is that I can't comment on it. To be fair, you have to watch every match played the previous weekend. This obviously excludes 90% of married men (the other 10% are soon to be divorced I would suspect), and anyone who plays sport themselves and cannot be in front of the TV all day.
