Geraghty has never performed consistently at any club; he makes Cipriani look metronomic. When he's good, he's decent in attack...and that's about it. He's no better than Hodgson, Lamb or Myler, certainly no better than Flood or Farrell, and Heathcote, Ford, Burns and Clegg will all surpass him...if they haven't already done so. I guess Irish are desperate though with the departure of Dan Bowden.

@ Headhunter99 - you could well be right.

I'd also like to add Heathcote to your list...

Sorry but every time I watched him at Northampton I would rather have had Myler on the pitch. He's easier to run through than Cipriani, unreliable and his decision making is suspect. Not sure what Irish want to achieve here.

@APV1 - I agree a little cynical but is this a case of returning after the end of the dour regime of MJ ?

Either way its good to have him back, along with Cipriani,Burns,Flood and Farrel another young number 10 to luiven up competition for the England shirt.

Very, very underrated in attack in my opinion. He may not be a good kicker, but he can get the backline moving extremely well. I actually think he is the best English running 10 these days. His running causes indecision and confusion in the opposition and his passes are on par with Charlie Hodgson's. I would have loved to see him at Northampton with Pisi, Artemyev and Downey.

Perfect example is in the 2nd half of the HC after Leinster had made their comeback. He put in two very dodgy tackles to be fair, but the backline was causing Leinster problems for the short period he was on the field with ball in hand, even if it was in his own half.

I could never totally warm to Geraghty. Great one minute, rubbish the next. Will never realise his potential I suspect.

Well lets see what happens this time. Gerraghty like Ryan Lamb, tends to show lots of promise but has up to now never shown any consistency. Goodness knows Floods form also goes up and down like a knackered lift. If Gerraghty wants to move ahead he has to become, more consistent and less flakey. From an England point of view unless he matures in the near future he's going to end up an also ran, the young pretenders knocking on the door are steadier and more reliable. Based on Irishes last run of matches he's certainly going to have to up his game to drag them off their bootstraps.

Does he want to be considered for the EPS again? It might explain his return...

That's a little cynical, I grant you, but it's a possibility.

Whatever the reason, he's a player I like to watch, so welcome back!
