Why does a poster's nationality matter? Surely it makes more sense to state who you support. Like genghis_j, I'm a hodge-podge mongrel of very dubious heritage (I'm sure you're just hodge-podge, genghis_j, rather than a dubious mongrel like me!), so my nationality isn't that important.
I am, however, British, born and raised in England (to a Dutch father and an Irish mother). I support Bath, England and the B&I Lions. I also support The Barbarians, depending who they're playing..!
But I'm a rugby fan 1st and foremost. This weekend I'm taking my 4 yo and 7 yo boys to the Warriors : Irish match, despite being a Bath fan. Why? Because I love rugby and I can.

Olly Barkley's tackle on a transvestite pitch invader was brilliant. I was almost as if he looked over, saw a man in a dres and thought, "Oh how droll.". Then had second thoughts and went in for the tackle. The chap will be dining out on that story for years, though.
Once again England can't seem to find a simple white top with a red rose on. Classic and simple. Why do the designers have to get all poncy and fancy - it's international rugby, for Goodness' sake, not soccer! Whilst I will always support them, it's starting to get a bit daft. What next? A black shirt at a RWC in NZ..?!
Another "Hot" for you - Ding Dong's openness about his struggle with depression. The more people who are open about these sorts of issues, the less stigma will be attached. Thankfully I've not suffered, but I know people who have. And all power to Belly for his strength and courage.
@ justice_4_all - why don't you want photos of the house and missus too? Do you know something we don't?! ;-)

@Trinats, simple logic mate. NZ has 4 of the their 5 teams in the top half of the comp. So, our average success rate is going to be much stronger than Oz.
The top Australian team by virtue of points, is scraping to make 7th position.

The Australian conference is the weakest at this point because an Australian team still hasn't won a game overseas. Compare that to NZ teams that have won 6 & Saffa teams that have won 5 & it's not a pretty look.
Force have always had horrible luck with injuries & defections but they do have the ability to turn it on. I remember when the Crusaders were at their peak 4 or 5 years back, the Force were their bogey side.
And if you think the purple with the fluorescent yellow strip look bad, the traditional English white with the same fluorescent strip looks even worse.

@Trinats
our mate John did well to arrange for an Aussie team to automatically be in the top three otherwise the top Aussie team would currently be about #6 on the ladder. In terms of overall conference strength, rather than individual teams being at the bottom of the barrel, I'm afraid the Aussie conference isn't a robust creature.
The Rebels continue to do really nice promo in the local newspapers, though.

Blues.
Big difference is the Auckland version have time to turn it around this season.
Cardiff version does not.
All they can do is hope they can spoil Scarlets (possible) playoff place.

Oh get over it Trinats "that conference" would not even be in the top 4 if the competition was based on points, the so called weak South Africans and the so called weak Kiwis would be laughing all the way to the bank..........

I'd like to make a suggestion Planet Rugby; why not indicate from which country readers are from (i.e. next to their username in posts). I think it would make it a whole lot more interesting?

Good Hot and Not this week! I just won't be so quick to write off the Force - I've actually been surprised at how good they've looked despite their injuries and the departure of O'Connor... They're not a star-studded team and they practically have no depth... But they're doing pretty well with what they've got! I'll bet a lot of money that they WILL win another game this season...
And nice try at Afrikaans there... but I believe "meneer betroubaar" would've been more gramatically correct. :P Personally I like to call him "mr over-rated".

who inquired about Yoann Maestri ? I haven't seen this on this website or other sports websites i'm curious about the truth beyond that..
agree england sevens jersey designer is a muppet, why can't it just be red or white ? that's the colours of england arent they?
regarding morne steyn its a bit harsh to criticize a player for missing a few kicks. His strike rate has been so high over the years, it seems odd to mention it, why not mention mcfaddens woeful kicking( from a leinster fan) against edinburgh then?
Really hope the wasps stay up, they have one of the most decorated historys in english club rugby it'd be a shame seeing them go down
Also has anyone noticed how several internationals could be possibly playing second division rugby next season? Huw Bennett in lyon, Cedric Heymans,Rocokoko,Mike Philips for bayonne, Stephen Jones James Haskell Tom Palmer Vladislav Korshunov Tom Varndell for wasps..

And here was I, thinking that it was a good thing to have a good few spectators (for the first time) at the Edinburgh Heineken Cup Quarterfinal. Little did I know, this was indeed (partly) a football-crowd straight from a cursed Old Firm encounter. Shame on the individuals - not the organisers, who get two thumbs up for mustering that much support for the team!

Ho ho ho. Can't say I've ever found Scottish Rugby fans a venemous lot, unless of course you're English.(But what would I know about that) Something probably got lost in the translation, or a bit of native wit. Toulouse shouldn't complain they may have woken up some new passion in Scottish Rugby. Goodness knows they need it.
