This boy is good, as good as Mike Harris anyway. There are plenty of gems like him in ITM cup rugby, probably a lot that are UK passport eligible too. The passport is not valuable in that the player is eligible for England, but more so that they don't take up the valuable few foreign player positions allowed for premiership teams. In our province Bay of Plenty, we have a 10 that puts the ball in front of his forwards all day and doesn't miss kicks. He is our 2nd or 3rd best, but he would be awesome in the premiership. NZ is full of players like him. Much better than Daniel Bowden and Jimmy Gopperth that were only barely OK at Super level.

Couldn't agree more that home grown is always best, but this is a professional game and the law entitles people to ply their trade wherever, subject to certain conditions. So stop harping on about it, its the way the world works nowadays. Freedom is a funny thing isn't it, there's always someone having a moan. Just rehabilitating long term emigrants a lot of the time. Horrible place the UK isn't it.

@ APV1 - You do need a passport, ideally from the southern hemisphere... (thought i'd beat the trolls too!)

Looks like another good signing for us.

Quins need another good flyhalf as a reserve to Nick Evans. Clegg is hardly near capable of filling his boots.

@ genghis_j - (I thought I'd say it before some of the trolls get a whiff of your comment):

You don't even need a passport to be eligible for England!

There. Done.

@ Centre12 - Heathcote... Cipriani... I agree that "home-grown" would be preferred, but if they pull on the England jersey, then all power to them!

The ITM cup, is a league the English sides should look to foreign imports, because they come so cheap and are probably more willing to play than SupeRugby players, who seem to look down on NH Rugby. also, you never know, they could end up being the next Isa Nacewa...

Hmmmmmm a UK passport holder, does that mean he can play for a England, Scotland or Wales, if so I'd imagine the RFU had some input, well England have got Flood, Farrell and Ford and I'd rather see homegrown players being picked rather than imports, good luck to the guy though, he'll learn a lot from Nick Evans
