I would def not be calling up Gits. All respect to him, he has played unbelievable footy for us in the past. But recently he has seemed to only lose us games (Scotland, not great against Samoa) and dunno if his leadership is really that necessary given we've got the likes of Sharpey, Genia and Horwill around.

Also, I think Steven Moore has really stepped up a notch and I think the inclusion of Gits may mess with this a little re: "I'm the f$@#ing captain" quote from a brumbies game in the super's.

IMO I think we've got the backs covered. I'd be bringing in Beau or Gill, tho don't think Beau has really shined in a gold jersey yet (freaking awesome in a red one tho!!)

@Trinats for once I agree with you it is irrelevant where a person is born if they qualify for that country and don the jersey that is it. They to me are Australians English or whatever country they are representing. Please some consistency in argument though and it will be the last we hear from you about the country of birth of Ben Franks.

@APV1 The journos wont let this type of naming players to bring out their birth place because it will spoil all the stories peddled over the years to besmirch where a country gets its players and thus give them nothing to stir about. Did you see how many of the Samoan team have players born in NZ I agree its not relevant to our discussion here and Im being a bit hypocritical I do it to point out how these journalists continue to peddle the line that NZ are ripping players off the Pacific Islands when almost all players of Pacific Islands heritage who have represented the All Blacks have either been born in NZ or arrived here as a child.

If Digby and JOC are back for the finals it still doesnt look too bad in the backs. If Fainga'a head knock is worth 2 weeks he will be back for the quarter final. I would rather have Barnes at inside centre than McCabe anyway. If Horne is gone, AAC at out centre and the choice of Digby, JOC or Mitchell on the wings. Beale can play just about anywhere. I do think it is time to give Giteau a call, even if only to cover any further injuries to inside backs. The Wallabies aren't out of this yet.

It was just a matter of time before one of the Faingaa twins got injured with the type of tackle they dish out...most of the time they dive to the players feet in a 'schoulder charge' fashion (Samo does it too)...

@crunchfit: >What happened when Faingaa went down (get well soon)? If Moore was already playing as a back who went on for Faingaa?

The penultimate phase of play: USA on attack on their side of the Australian 22 and with the advantage. Two Australians onto the one US player who jinked up a little in the tackle while Faingaa dived lower and took a knee to the temple. After being stretchered off, play continued with the scrum and Australia playing with 14 men. USA won their scrum and the halfback kicked the ball straight out to finish the match, an act described as excellent sportsmanship by the NZ commentators (it would have been distasteful to attack against 14 men at 82.00 mins in such circumstances).

Not too worried about a reshuffle of the team, ACoops is awesome at fullback if needed (plenty of depth on the wings when Dig's back too), outside centre the only worry I reckon, but Ant Fai back for QF methinks.

As for lack in Aussie depth, I don't think SA or NZ are much better at the mo, both their B teams didn't perform really well when on tour in the TN. Aussie B team would lose against quality sides too, but would be by similar margins IMO.

Really sad about the injuries, but from a perverse point of view it might work to the Ausies advantage, and this is fron an ABs fan point of you. Deans might be forced to find a place for Barnes, and how good was he last night, I'd start him every time, always rated him.

Also an opportunity to grt cover for Pockock. Only one I'd be really concerned about is Beale, but it doesn't sound serious.

I know that it's an unfortunate reality of rugby but I still hate seeing good players getting injured like this. I hope they make a speedy recovery.

@trinats agreed... and of course, don't forget Ben Franks being Australian born.

@APV1 apparently Argentina, Georgia, and Romania are the only countries where everyone was born in that country. Again, not that this matters anyway.

Speaking of feral ejits... @Theshaw I hope you're gone BEFORE the QFs if you continue to make dumb-arse comments like that dude.

WOW that was a costly win for the walabies .and a real shame as at least 2 of them may now be out of the world cup possiably 3 dont know what the latest advice on concussion is ?? a real pity for Australia as they had a chance of getting to the semis and possiably the final but that was along shot since the irish game imo.Got to feel for them a talanted side now really in trouble though injuries

What is wrong with everyone? If someone wants to or has to play for a country which isn't that of their birth leave off their backs...you'd probably do the same in their situations...

I missed the 2nd half. What happened when Faingaa went down (get well soon)? If Moore was already playing as a back who went on for Faingaa?

@ Trinats - couldn't agree more. It'd be nice if the journo's put the nationality thing to bed, as it only gets a bite out of the feral ejits on here, who like to go on about it.

Wasn't it noted that there wasn't a single team in the RWC without a player or players not born, raised and generationally from that country..?

(I'm not sure that actually makes sense in English, but you get the gist!)

BORED OF IT NOW!
