@SAkiwi - what am trying to say is the failure of the irb officials to be fair because they don't do their homework. Burger is a good tough player and he has learned his lesson. But if the officials had done their homework, there wasn't any need of a special equipment from SA to help in the case. They should have monitored the performance of all the professional players and all would be fair and square.

@islandpower & cuw31 - you guys are very right. I couldn't agree more. That is why I am always bringing up the tackle. Because I feel for the islanders and the minority of players who love the physical part of the game. These rules and interpretations can endanger the game itself, and if allowed to continue, then might as well ban men from the sport and let's hand it over to ladies for their enjoyment. When I first arrived to this nation where am living, someone invited me to a rugby game. He said, "just come, you will have a laugh over this". He told me before they had the kick off to watch when players are being tackled to see the reactions. A few tackles at the start were on the legs and more to the feet, and suddenly there was this particular one more on the waist area and it was a good average hit. To my surprsie, the ball carrier stood up, told off the tackler at the same time was pulling him on the jersy. The ref had to jumb in to stop it. Others started to stand around ready for a fight as well. But it was when it actually happened to me a few months later when I started playing that made me aware the mindset was the problem. The guy I hit ran after me a good 30 minutes of the game before I had to hit him again to stop his stupidity. But it didn't stop the continuous frictions in rugby games because the players didn't want the hard hits. Is still here but is a bit better now then when I first started. Last time I looked we are ranked 50 something.

From what I saw in the replay the tackle looked late and he tipped Lamby on his head. If it was Bakkies Botha or Schalk they would be heading home already. I can't believe rugbylover 11 thinks Shalk gets treated leniantly?

Wouldn't worry about Cooper - I reckon Barnes will be in from now on. Cooper likes quick phase rugby and being the golden balls. WC rugby is tight and hard and a team game. He doesn't like tight and hard....not sure about team games...

Let me tell you people something. The last world cup Burger (Bok nr 6) was cited for his usual thing of jumping up to contest the ball with his stiff right arm which resulted in samoa's nr 9 on the floor unconscious. The Boks brought some special equipment from SA to help analyse the incident. The result was only a 1 or 2 games ban. The IRB people failed to see that Burger had been doing that consistently even during their tour of europe just before the RWC. Now what I am saying is, if that was an islander or another player, these irb would have been put on notice about Burger's habit for a long time. It didn't register with them at all. Alesana Tuilagi was cited for tackling the english player while the guy was in the air before the world cup. I met this samoan at the airport in LA before the 2007 tournament, and out of curiosity, I asked him what happened. He told me, that he was aiming at tackling the guy head on, but when he got to the guy he was already in the air, he was already committed to his hard tackle and couldn't constrain himself anymore. It was impossible. If you look at the video in youtube, Tuilagi was telling the truth. He said he told the irb people when he was pulled aside, but they refused to believe him. Moreover, the english guy when in the air saw Tuilagi and purposely had his feet in a position to hurt Tuilagi. It is clear in the video. So the irb rep played God which is why he couldn't believe the samoan but didn't cite the one that was in the air that had the intent to hurt. He was also the one that started the fight.

I was not surprised that in the game against wales, the samoans were not really doing any big hits. They would probably all yellow card by the ref. like what happened to their fullback in their first game.

The bias, superiority and indifferent mentality of rugby officials must go for the sake of our rugby.

I certainly didnt notice this. I thought Fiji were well disciplined. Lambie only seemed to get the ball at the same time as a couple of Fijians. Perhaps the citing commissioner is justifying his expenses paid jaunt.

I don't believe you people anymore. Unless you get Cooper (wallaby nr 10) again to bestow on him his rightly deserved sentence for putting his knee on the ABs' captain's jaw, you will remain in my book as a committee with no "intergrity". Simply put it, YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A JOKE!!!
