Looked like they were pretty stuck to me and with their hands in the air they could hardly play the ball on the ground.

The problem here is it is such a grey area at the breakdown and to be fair the referee has a very difficult job and being human of course will make mistakes. Now I wouldn't suggest any ref was deliberately biased and I appreciate they try their best and they all have a bad game now and again but this was a WC final and with all the hard work the players put in beforehand I think they deserved better.

Lucky NZ missed a few penalty kicks as well but while the English girls must be credited for some excellent defence it was the unnoticed infringements close to the tryline that possibly prevented the ferns scoring more tries or kicking more penalties that made the difference.

England didn't deserve to win the game but the Kiwis can have no complaints about the refereeing performance - all except two or three decisions were bang on the money. It wasn't that the Black Ferns girls were getting stuck or pushed into rucks accidentally like you're suggesting 7ton, they were deliberately lying on the wrong side, frequently playing the ball on the floor and constantly offside. If anything I'd say New Zealand were lucky that England didn't kick the three penalties they were given.

Up to now it was only the English who whinged about the referee when they won the match....

@Daffyddg1984

Its not touch rugby. Try tackling someone while staying on your feet or rolling away with a load of opposition bodies piling over you when they should be staying on their feet.

Bring back proper rucking but who done away with that?

They have spent the last year telling us how they will win it but despite all the money thrown at them, home advantage and a very obliging referee they lost.

However here we have one team member, Maggie Alphonsi now guaranteeing they will win it in 4 years time.

Where just where did they drag that referee from what a disaster.
