France coach Marc Lièvremont has confirmed that Morgan Parra will move to fly-half if François Trinh-Ducis forced off the filed against Italy on Sunday.
Lièvremont has named a bench with no specialist fly-half since Dimitri Yachvili has taken the place of the injured Fred Michalak, who, unlike the Biarritz scrum-half, was able to cover both positions.
"We haven't discussed it with the players yet but we'll probably shift Morgan Parra in the knowledge that Yannick Jauzion can also (play fly-half," said Lièvremont on Wednesday.
"Even though he hasn't played there this season, Morgan was trained as fly-half and has played there for Bourgoin."
Meanwhile, France's mercurially gifted Michalak's knee operation has been hailed as a success by doctors, the player's spokeswoman revealed.
The 27-year-old damaged ligaments in his left knee playing for his club side Toulouse against Stade last weekend.
Doctors say the operation "went well and that Fred will be treated in the best possible conditions," Michalak's spokeswoman Dalila Essediri told AFP by telephone.
It is the third knee injury suffered by Michalak inside four years and he will not return to action before the start of the 2010/2011 season.
