Tuco, If you think thats all BOD did last year you obviously didnt see very many Ireland games or Leinster OR Lions games.

I am tired of listening to the negativity of some New Zealand rugby supporters. Or should I say supporters of winning not actually supporters of the great sport of rugby!

conrad smith?? YES CONRAD SMITH !!... even kahui... i'm a great admirer when it comes to bod, but he is waaaaaaay past his best form... he wasn't anywhere near being able to stop bastareud... he has been a joke, all he did last year was a poor pick n go try (my grandama could have scored that try)... and a try under the posts (that was a huge gift, not at all a show of his skills) against australia

Hi Irishzim,

A kiwi would never refer to "centres" [they call these positions 2nd five and centre]! I am Irish and will be at the match in Croke Park on Saturday. I am a great admirer of All Black rugby. Kiwis can wax lyrical with the best of them about their heros, Pinetree Meads, Fitzie, Josh and Goldie (Jeff Wilson) but they wait until they retire. For their current players, they are only as good as their last match. No exceptions!

O'Driscoll richly deserved his "player o the decade" award - for the last decade, not this one.

New Zealand rugby fans (of which Maorihill must be one ) surely acknowledge that experience wins world cups and BOD will bring more than most to the 2011 World Cup. The non-Irish Lions have all acknowledged what he brought to the Lions in 2009 - his skill levels are still superior to any other centre in the world. It is a shame that so many New Zealand rugby fans feel the need to be hyper-critical of all other rugby teams. I know how highly South African fans rate him after the Lions. Let's keep it positive!

What New Zealand centres????? Conrad Smith? Please! Kahui? Sure sure providing he avoids injury for 5 minutes!

Its true BOD's pace is not what it used to be but thats not all that makes a centre. If he was going to retire it would have been 2 years ago when he went through some bad form. He is on the up and up now and is as useful as ever!

O'Driscoll is past it by about 2 years. Yes, he can still defend well but he has post all his pace. Set clear against the Italians he kicked - once an opponent gets past him, he is lost. Against the power and speed of the French pair he was nowhere to be seen! He longer runs at the opposition backs, that task is left to Darcy alone.

In June 2011, Ireland will have aspirations of winning the World Cup. If they wish to do so, the BoD should be moved into management, because he will be no match for the French, Australian or New Zealand centres.
