Blue Bulls hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle will undergo a foot operation on Tuesday that will keep him out of action for at least three months.
The 23-year-old sustained the foot problem earlier this year on Springbok duty, but Team Doctor Org Strauss explained that Ralepelle had suffered a re-occurrence in the Currie Cup before not letting it fully heal.
"Dr Fief Ferreira is therefore going to insert a screw in his foot later today in the Little Company of Mary Hospital and this will ensure that he will be able to make a full recovery," read a club statement.
The Bulls met up at Loftus Versfeld on Monday to begin their preparations for the upcoming Super 14 season, with Ralepelle's injury the only problem to report for the champions before they move on to George for a summer camp.
